Tom Shad sings,composes,improvises, plays bass, fretless piccolo bass and guitar. He has appeared on many cd's including the Brilliant Coroners' Brilliant Corners,Dumptruck's For The Country and Otis Ball and the Chains I'm Gonna Love You 'till I Don't. Currently, Tom plays Chapman Stick in the show "Rewired" by Blue Man Group in New York City,fretless guitar in Mercurial Trio and Crisis ,and is a member of The Sperm Whale. Tomalso freelances and teaches. The tunes included here represent a cross-section of Tom's recent output; from improv duo with Daniel Carter to twelve tone Ornette-style jazz to solo piccolo bass improvisations to his new pop punk songs.
