I have a philosophical mind. One of my biggest fears is time because it goes by so fast and I don’t want to waste it or think I didn’t do things I should have. People are interesting to me, we all think so differently but are built the same way. I stay up all night sometimes because I can’t slow my mind down enough to fall asleep with all my thoughts racing through my head. I love being around good people who want to bring others up rather than down. I believe that there’s something to learn in every situation so when I find myself in a bad one I try to remember that. I can be a grumpy guy, and struggle sometimes to see the good in people rather than the bad. I look at life as a journey where your gonna hit bumps along the way but to not let it slow you down from reaching your goal.
I started writing songs when I was 16. My inspiration came from a variety of tragedy, loss, love, happiness, anger, desperation, and meaning of life. Most people don't experience all that at a young age but in a way it was a blessing in disguise because it gave birth to my music. After I experienced the feeling of writing my first song, I became addicted to it. It was a feeling of Euphoria, and it never gets old. A song is complex, but also simple. Kind of like a light bulb; you give it electricity, you flip a switch and it projects light. The electricity relates to my experiences in life, and the switch is my willingness to learn from them. I harness all my experiences then put them into a song and it projects music. It sounds simple but there is a lot that goes into it.
Each song has a purpose.
Whenever I write a song it's like the song finds me, like it's just waiting till I hit that magic chord that sparks the melody. That's why it's so Euphoric because it hits you all at once and before you know it your writing lyrics that fit perfectly into the melody, like it's some kind of musical puzzle. You know how good it feels when your putting a puzzle together and they all just start fitting into place and that feeling of excitement.... it's like that X 1000.
I write about real things because I think it’s the best way to connect with people. I find it strange how hard it is to just be myself sometimes. Whether I’m around new people, a pretty girl, a big crowd, I tend to act differently in certain situations. And when I write a song, I am faced with all those situations because anyone who hears it will be hearing my creation, my feelings, my thoughts etc… so I have to get myself to a place of complete freedom so I can show people the real me. Otherwise, I don’t have a sincere relationship with the people listening.
