Blunt´s short bio (english) :
Tony Blunt, from Barcelona, is without a doubt one of the most prolific artists in our country. He has edited more than 20 releases in vinyl and he has climbed to the top of the list of the more active artists in the matter of electronic music production during the last four years.
With more than 12 years as a dj and near 5 as a producer, this artist keeps bringing surprise for his capability and versatility to combine different jobs inside the music industry.
As a producer, besides his solo work, Tony shares projects with Russ Gabriel, Swat-Squad, Ivan Murias, Eclec Sonde and more recently with Iris Aneas. As a sound ingeneer he mixes and masterizes for aproximately 25 labels and national and international artists. He is also the owner and A&R of three record labels, Thump Elekrtronics, Inout Records and Organica Music Labworks, and all put together with his work as a deejay and live act artist, taking his shows to clubs all over the world.
Throughout his career Blunt has been remixed by artists like The Youngsters, Mark Broom, Taho, Pantha Du Prince, Mikkel Metal, Swat-Squad, Soultek, Bryan Aneurysm, Djinxx and Tim Baker among others. And on top of that, in his next releases we will find remixes by Jay Shape, Echoplex, Beat Pharmacy aka Brendon Moeller, Matt Masters and Claro Intelecto. Nowadays he is preparing the release of a new album alongside Iris Aneas as Handle With Care.

Uno de los artistas más prolíficos de nuestro país es, sin lugar a dudas, el barcelonés Tony Blunt. En los ultimos 4 años ha editado mas de 20 trabajos en vinilo y se ha colocado en el top de la lista de artistas nacionales con mas actividad dentro de la producción de musica electronica.
Con mas de 12 años como deejay y cerca de 5 como productor, este artista sigue sorprendiendo por su capacidad y versatilidad para compaginar diferentes labores dentro de la industria musical.
Como productor, a parte de su trabajo en solitario, comparte proyectos con Russ Gabirel, Swat-Squad, Ivan Murias, Eclec Sonde y mas recientemente Iris Aneas.
Como ingeniero de sonido, mezcla y masteriza para cerca de 25 sellos y artistas nacionales e internacionales. On the recording side, the guys have had a series of releases including the classic "Type One" on the Justified Cause imprint, and, today's stunning 'Type Two E.P.' on the always on point, MoonPool Records. Not only do MoonPool give you the sonic delights and lush melodies of title track
'My Girl', but this is backed up magnificently by the awesome 'Otros Tiempos'. A super package indeed, and one that is further bolstered , by the inclusion of the Jay Shepheard remix of 'My Girl'. Over the past few years Shepheard has won a legion of fans for his exquisite productions and remixes for labels such as Compost, Diynamic Music and Four:Twenty. Here he turns in, what for us is possibly his finest work to date. A touch of magic, and sprinkle of star dust, all fused together with a lovely grooving bassline, make this a joy to behold!

Type One's melancholic yet positive and energetic melody is the first piece that sets the stage for Doide's new musical project. A project that has been created between the cities of Stuttgart and Barcelona by one of the most legendary brains on the international electronic music scene. That's right! We're talking about Ferox's legendary, Russ Gabriel who's teamed up with Tony Blunt to reinvent the makings of electronic dance music with Future Techno.
No Tune follows in the footsteps of a vibe that is sure to become unmistakable; with it's own sound, they center the groove's energy in the multitude of analog sounds that do loop-d-loops throughout the well worked seven minutes. On the B-side that closes off this project on the 12" wax release. For the digital troops we've added a Calida Desdicha, a track full of latin subtleties and stabs that give the track a distinct Detroit feel.
So remember the name, Doide, because Justified Cause has taken the initiative of presenting them to the world, though we all know that soon they will be busting out on a bunch of European labels too. Another thing.. if you EVER get a chance to see these guys live, DO IT! Here at the Justified Cause Camp, we're very proud of having them join our family, so you'll be hearing more news about them soon and of course, more music!

Blunt made his debut in PulseWith with this work between Detroit and Barcelona.;Is gonna be your night shows a dark and elegant vision of the new Detroit techno. What most surprise of this work is its versatility, the versatility to the dancefloor and a quiet listening to perceive the nuances and microloops work. Certainly we are proud of this great debut in PulseWith Blunt, a talent that continues to prove its quality.
Complementing Blunt we have the remix of Swat Squad, well qualified after his latest remix for PulseWith 14 by HD Substance. “I must emphasise that everything that touches this man lately is absolutely great, he is really in good shape”. The interpretation of Swat Squad for Blunt moves closer to a groove rhythm, mutant melodies and a work of genuine architectural sound, one of his best remixes to date.

One of Chile's most active and respected artists, Miguel Tutera, takes the lead in our next release. He has published excellent work in such prestigious labels such as Unfoundsound, Sub Static, Gastspiel, Kickboxer, Toys for Boys, Force Tracks, Condormusic, Eukahouse, etc.
Subconce is proud to announce this brilliant EP that contains two new original tracks and three remixes by Someone Else, Blunt and Leonel Castillo.
In songs like ''No future'' and ''No reality'', Miguel surprises once again with a very personal style that takes detail in clean sharp estructures and sensous texture with a funky touch. Someone Else doesn't come short either on his remix, building up a very catchy bassline with a monster groove that won't let you down. Blunt, on the other side,creates a darker mood with a minimal techno remix that will leaveyou speechless.
At last but not least, Leonel Castillodoes a very intimate and personal reinterpretation of ''No Future'', warmer than the previous. High quality tech-house for the most exigent listeners.

In 2006 Tony Blunt signed with Dpress Industries, becoming one of the main names on the label roster. He released the "Black Series", causing a devastating storm effect within the dub techno community; a series of 3 eps in which he placed together the best of his Detroit techno and tech-house repertoire and featured remixes by the talents of Soultek, cv313, Pantha du Prince, Brian Aneurysm and Mikkel Metal. Now he's worked out 2 new tracks exploring his more minimal side, taking out the melodic components and the floating atmospheres. "Shouter" is a track which finds its place in the middle of his exploration for this new sound, combining classic elements and a more straight minimal techno feel. "Golden Lake" is the new form of his music, a funky electronic groove, a pulsating minimal mover. DJINXX aka Electronic Resistance, is a fine producer, bold jockey and gifted label owner. Owing to his latest EPs on Delsin or Ovum and thanks to the growing reputation of Mezzotinto, DJinxx' prolific production platform, the French musician is now at the top of his potential. His version of "Golden Lake" is a tasteful techno anthem, bringing hard groove back to the label; beautiful and perfect for the floor. An essential remix already supported by Chris Frontier, Dan Curtin, Gel Abril, Jeff Bennett, Laurent Garnier...

For the seventh release on Thump Elektroniks, comes "Three of Us" by Russ Gabriel, a brand new ep in which the basslines, pads and chords are the catalysts in an explosive mixture of rhythm and sound. This is a work along the lines of his previous productions for Sushitech's sister label Pariter or his own imprint Ferox Records. The ep includes a remix by Zwo! who delivers and amazing version from the original “Congarilla” track. Russ Gabriel has been at the forefront of electronic music for over 15 years. Since the foundation of his own Ferox Records, he went on to produce for Djax-Up-beats, Planet-E, Force Inc, Soma, Peacefrog, Magnetic North, GPR and many more of the forces of the wave of 90's Techno. After the international success of the last release remixed by The Youngsters, Zwo! formed by Tony Blunt and Ivan Murias, are back with the sixth release on their own imprint Thump Elektroniks. " Primitive Sense " is an exquisite Detroit techno track that combines classic Motor City sounds and modern minimalistic techno elements. This track is again a new call to the melodic techno train away from any minimal trends. The second track “Longer Lasting”, is deep and pure techno energy that blows you away with a fabulous high voltage climax. The guest remixer is Taho (Lumina, Ovum Recordings), who has bathed in a musical universe since childhood, rocked by some Vangélis while passing by some Miles Davis. Taho's music has for a long time been influenced by the sound of Mad Mike, Basic Channel, The Orb, Laurent Garnier...and the German music of Maurizio, with his subliminal melodies, which has inspired a lot of the weave-background of his compositions. Now he remixes the main theme "Primitive Sense", with a very personal rework created to burn the dancefloor. Great paths and melodic elements but all moving forward to a straight tech-house bomb!! Top quality as usual, from Taho, as previously shown on his works for labels like FCommunications, Substatic, Delsin Records, Thinner and Ovum Recordings.

Third and last instalment of the "Black Series" by Tony Blunt on Dpress Industries, already considered a classic series and the most followed and successful releases on the label in the past 2 years. Playing the right melodic techno rules, Blunt produces nearly 15 minutes of fantastic grooves called "Retrospective" and "Over You" on the edge of the minimal tech-house field but incorporating romantic characters that create a unique evolving scene comparable to the early works of Circulation, Jeff Bennett, Layo & Bushwaka.... Mikkel Metal (Echocord, Kompakt) is the man behind the astonishing remix on the B side. Prior to becoming one of the better torch carriers for the Basic Channel school of minimalist dubby techno, Mikkel Meldgaard was playing guitar in a number of shoegaze-inspired rock bands in his native Denmark. His interests became increasingly electronics based, and by the end of 2000 he has his first productions as Mikkel Metal out on Hal 9000. After an mp3 release for Datamusik, he became a flagship producer for the Echocord label, in addition to releasing a pair of 12"s for Kompakt during 2003. Since then he has been considered one of the main names within the renewed Detroit Techno scene. Mikkel translates the happy and catchy original mix of "Retrospective" into a dirty digital dub-techno tune Basic Channel style. As he explains "...It ended further from the original, you should be able to recognize some of the original parts in the remix, however there weren't that many characteristic sounds, mostly the melodies to work with..." He used the one half of a theme which plays together with some delayed guitar recorded himself. Part 2 of the well received "Black Series" by Tony Blunt on Dpress Industries. Blunt delivers an epic Detroit techno anthem full on paths and chords. "Deep Tunnel" is a powerful and groovy slice - a well produced track that contains the classic sounds that represent the most melodic and housey side of Blunt. "Pieces" is a space-techno masterpiece based on evolving atmospheric elements that starts with a broken-beat techno rhythm and develops into a beautiful piece of straight sci-fi techno, perfect for afterhours or a "Blade Runner" OST Re-version. Remixes by Pantha du Prince (Dial) and Brian Aneurysm (Iron Box Music). Hendrik Weber's current and probably most influential project is "Pantha du Prince". Hendrik Weber's nervous elegance, damned sexy and glamourous, has a vast knowledge and experience in Indierock, New Music and Techno. Taking the raw elements from the original "Deep Tunnel" track he takes us to a new level, creating a marvellous Minimal Tech-house version that contains omnipresent and basic melodic lines accompanied by some psychedelic wobbling sounds - a deep bass joined by a crunchy rhythm which does not underestimate the influences of Noisepop nor Minimalism. Brian Aneurysm has been producing electronic music for almost a decade but by 2000, a drastic shift happened, he started teaming up with mutual techno lover Eric Estornel (Maetrik, Mariel Ito) who introduced him to forms of music that he had not properly experienced until then: Minimal and Electro. That shaped his musical style so much that by 2001 he started his own label IRON BOX MUSIC. And with his background in industrial and heavy metal, his minimal sound started to take shape in its own way. This new version of "Deep Tunnel" is one of Aneurysm's best remixes ever. Deep, Industrial but melancholic, basic and raw minimalistic techno, profound sounds that take us on a ride inside his electronic mind, an unforgettable and well conducted explosion of sound from beginning to end. Tony blends a perfect combination of melodic techno and Detroit feel, in which the basslines, pads and chords are the catalysts in an explosive mixture of rhythm and sound. The series starts with this EP of 4 cuts featuring the talents of the very special guest Soultek (Echospace, Souldubsounds, USA) who provides two completely new and extraordinary versions of the track “City Rain”, along the lines of his previous productions as Echospace.
