We have no idea, but have been told the following: "Neil Young meets Nina Rota", "An old timey version of Calexico", "King Crimson", "Ennio Morricone", "Dirty Threeish", "A bunch of sissies", "Genesis circa 1972... and I mean that in a good way", & "You guys are weird".
The Top Critters are five good friends (sometimes 6) who enjoy playing music together almost as much as they enjoy BBQing together. Top Critters originally started as two roommates playing music in their kitchen. As the band grew, it was time to move out of the kitchen and head back to our practice space. We've been writing, surviving line-up changes, & playing shows ever since! Feel free to contact us for shows, drinks, etc. : topcritters@yahoo.com
Here's general background info on current members: Mike Dineen - acoustic guitar, 12-string guitar (ex-M.D. 20/20, ex-Smirk). Phil Dumesnil - accordian, banjo, slide whistle (Foibles, Best Pals). Chris Gonzales - percussion (Fvtvrskvllz, Gargantula, Gibbs, ex-Comets on Fire). Andy California - bass (Tall Can, Manger), Asa Sanchez - organ/piano(ex-Smote the Giant), Lee Tom - electric guitar (The History Lesson, ex-M.D. 20/20, Gibbs)
The Critters give a big what's up to our former bass player Tiber Scheer, & our "special occasion" drummers Dave Leonard & Cole Westbrook!
Thank you guys for an awesome show!!!There would be no Tender Frame if it were not for The Top Critters and a lot of late nights at The John Barleycorn.
I don't know if you want MY liver... I am unemployed, and I did just pick up some other extra bad habits just because drunk is now boring... ya... probably don't want MY liver.
You guys were splendid last night. Thank you. Have fun on the rest of your tour. CD sounds excellent. Hold me over 'til the next time you're thru SC...
Duuuuude! You guys are playing with The Valkyries in Seattle? This is the rock band I was talking about from the Reverbfest. Loved their show (and you know how I feel about all girl bands). Been to The Comet as well, which I suppose is good for shows because its one big open space with a stage so the bar patrons cannot deny your presence, but too bad you aren't playing at The Bit because it has a little more edge. Wait, your an acoustic band, never mind...But seriously I liked The Bit. Nice little bar/venue to hangout at and it was the scene at one time where I heard some girl talk shit about Bob Seger behind me and I had to set her straight (note: I was stone-cold sober) and bitch had a John Mayer shirt on!!! Nobody better be talk'n about my man Bob like that. Turn the page bitch. Jk, I hate that song thanks to Metallica.
