About TTFR-- New CD "Say Goodbye" Out Today!

Like many members of the Armed Forces, when former active duty Army officer and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran Captain Sean Gilfillan returned from his tour of duty in January of 2006, he was looking for a sense of purpose. While in the military, the longtime music fan met an impressive amount of fellow soldiers who were also extremely talented musicians, and it surprised Gilfillan that most of them were having a hard time gaining a following and getting their unique voices heard in the world.

After meeting and having many meaningful conversations with friend and fellow Rhode Islander Ms. Sidney DeMello, Gilfillan realized they shared a common bond through their families' shared histories of dedicated military service, which between them includes all four grandfathers distinguished as WWII veterans. In 2006 they formed To The Fallen Records.

To The Fallen offers a platform for the powerful voices of musicians in the military to get their messages across to fellow soldiers as well as civilians and the public at large. A non-partisan label, To The Fallen's mantra is "It's not about politics, it's about music." Considering that the men and women making music on the label are the same brave soldiers defending our right to free speech, they have earned the right to say what they want to say, regardless of their political persuasions. To The Fallen Records concentrates on quality music, and makes a point of presenting an array of opinions from people that aren't running for office, and have no agenda other than asking for some respect.

"This is ongoing," says DeMello of the label. "Military musicians will exist as long as wars do. Their unique perspectives deserve their own place to congregate...and it's at To The Fallen Records. We don't plan on going anywhere."

To The Fallen Records will release three volumes per year, showcasing a variety of military artists and musical genres that delivers mainstream music appeal. The label also gives back to the military by donating a percentage of proceeds to organizations dedicated to honoring the fallen, or assisting disabled soldiers and their families.

I just checked out the Hip Hop Vol1, got it a green bean coffee in my way back in from R&R. All that I can say is, ON POINT. Thank you so MUCH for doing this for us, I feel that in the future, we are going to be understood a lot better when this whole thing is said and done with. Again, thank you and keep up the good work!

I really appreciate your support and helping spread the word - as a group we can really make a difference! Hope you are doing well and you have a great week!

Help support our troops by visiting the Military Troops Calendar Myspace page (on my top friends), www.militarytroopscalendar.com or my Myspace page and click the Paypal button. Proceeds go to the Fisher House, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and allow us to send the calendars to the troops serving overseas free of charge to thank them for their service to our country. Our goal is to send 17,000 overseas within the next couple weeks. Thank you for your support!

We're hiring - if you need a job read our blog!

Thanks for the friend's request.Sorry it took me a while to accept it.I like the idea of military artists singing on a record label. It is great that the percentage of the proceeds of the album will go to organizations dedicated to honoring the fallen, or assisting disabled soldiers and their families. I hope you have a great week.

Just got an e-mail from my dad about the upcoming HBO movie with Kevin Bacon, "Taking Chance". The Sundance festival nominated it for the "Grand Jury Prize". I am looking forward to this one! It sounds like this is going to be a great tribute to our fallen warriors.

Hey guys, I am so proud of you all for making this company for the soldiers. I've heard some AMAZING voices come from soldiers.. and like the camo they wear they aren't always seen. SO thank you for starting this for them. Keep up the work. HOOAH!!

Everyone in the TTFR family. It was a wicked awesome 2008 and lets keep kranking out the songs for the masses in 2009 and push this label up the a$$eS of corporate music scumbags that control the markets and the charts. If there are any fellow musicians in New England, contact me to setup a TTFR north east backyard BBQ tour.
