NATIONAL HERO!	Dec 19 2007 9:28 AM When I got back from the West coast late this summer and heard the news that Trash was not only ending, but had already closed in my absence, I was devastated. This IS something I had taken for granted, because for as long as I could remember I'd come here (as did everybody I knew) for the only true music store run by the most pure and unaffected musician/music lovers ever. Its a nasty heartbreak that during these winter months I can't go down to spend an hour, or however long looking for nothing in particular, yet finding what could be my next favorite album. Just having an idea of something you liked would spark the beautiful people at Trash into a discussion where they'd nonchalantly inform you of that artist's rarest 7", or the demo that their last band came up with, or an entirely different band that you SHOULD be listening to instead of the one you knew about. I've bought albums here and went to brag to my friend who told me they were the ones he just sold them a week earlier. I bought homemade cassettes and basement tapes from local punk and noise bands that would never have had a shelf or price tag anywhere else. I even bought punk compilations that had been recorded onto 8-tracks when my high-school $285 car had a player! Long live the Greatest Store of all Time. There are alot of lost souls wandering around now on a day off or staying home because this was the end of an era. Everybody I know relied on Trash to cure the blues. They're sorely missed by all of us.
Silver Hammer	Dec 16 2007 8:51 PM Goddammit, I could've been in a documentary if I'd stayed a little later! Words can't express how much I miss you guys, especially now, during Commerce Season. I used to get 3/4 of my shopping done there, saved a ton of cash, and almost always found gifts people liked (which had almost as much priority as saving cash).
