About me: Yo i'm Brevan and this is my page. I am a full time musician and jazz performance major at North Carolina Central University, where I get the pleasure and honor of studying with the Branford Marsalis Quartet (including private lessons w/ Jeff "Tain" Watts). I used to attend FIU in miami, but i had a few financial problems down there and had to move back home. I play the drumset, congas, timbales, and all sorts of Latin and African Percussion. I play in 2 hip-hop bands, my latin jazz quintet, 1 rock band, 2 salsa bands, with school, and @ church on the weekend. As you can see i like to keep myself busy lolz.....Ne wayz, im just a simple, laid back individual who likes home cooked meals( is that so much to ask?)...Hopefully, sometime b4 Armageddon i'll finish up my jazz degree and move somewhere where my talent can flourish and i can possibly make the musician's life a lucretive endeavor, cuz( a wise man once told me) aint nuttin in these streets but a chik gettin pregnant and a nigga gettin shot. Last and most important, Music is my life. I wake up, breathin quarter notes, eatin flat 13th chords for breakfast, sh*ttin sharp 11ths, and fallin back asleep to tumbaos. I live this sh*t, and without music or the ability to play i will perish....Music is the highest form of praise, and most importantly i play music to glorify the Creator who has blessed me with this power to heal souls.......More specifically some of the bands i play/have played with include PrimeraJazz, The Remix Project, The Old Ceremony, Solos, Only Midnight, Conjunto Sajaso, Orquesta GarDel, Orquesta Mesias, Carnavalito, Samecumba, Junk in the Trunk, Mr. Coffee & the Creamers, Chris Boerner Trio, Zakiyah, The Mighty Burners, Suenalo Sound System, Xperimento, Buya, G-Note All-Stars ummm.....thats all i can think of at the moment please forgive it's late lolz.......
