Dirty Three guitarist Mick Turner began a solo career in 1997 with the release of Tren Phantasma, a collection of improvised four-track recordings featuring the contemplative guitar style he used with his group the Dirty Three. The following year, Turner and his bandmate Jim White played live as the Tren Brothers, carrying the album's aesthetic into a concert setting with an arsenal of loop pedals and understated percussion. Several of these dates were opening spots for Cat Power, with whom the duo collaborated on the 1998 album Moon Pix. Turner and White also recorded a 7" for Secretly Canadian Records that year, and followed it with 1999's Marlan Rosa, released by Drag City. In summer 2002, Turner released the Seven Angels EP, a limited-edition set issued by Three Lobed Records. Later that year, his third album Moth arrived. The rarities collection The Blue Trees appeared in 2007. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide

Australian colloquialism (parliamentary, after author Joseph
Furphy) roughly translating as ‘A load of old cobblers’.
None of us have ever collaborated with Dirty Three, and what
our lead singer said on Aligre FM Paris three years ago (‘Substitute’ with
Vincent Hanon, 6 June 2006) still applies: “Warren Ellis and I have had our
differences but Warren’s
alright.”
The Certifiables residency at The St. Kilda Bowling Club is
non-existent. After all,
Last time we played there we fronted as a three piece whose
singer had (very recent) multiple nasal fractures.
Negotiations are in hand with The Greyhound Hotel St. Kilda
for a possible The Certifiables residency, likely to be each Thursday in the
back room (September, October, November 2009). Outstanding Australian support
acts 9pm, The Certifiables on stage 10.30pm. Tickets from The Greyhound, 1 Brighton Road,
St. Kilda Australia.
I can only squeeze one name on the door
(see GUESTS ARE ADVISED... which is our version of 'influences' on
our myspace site).
However, please do come along to one of
our thirteen $10 Thursday The Certifiables gigs as we work a
residency at The St. Kilda Bowling Club, Melbourne, Australia (some
profits flowing to Sacred Heart Mission) from Sept 3 2009 to Nov 26
2009.
well i was at a party in the bush and this lady who i thought was sexy said to me out of the blue if you were an animal you would be a crab i am staring into a fire in the middle of nowhere and she says i would be a crab
now in the beginning this made me feel a little weird who did this woman think she was no man would be happy with a crab right give him a tiger a lion a horse and eagle but a crab
as the night when on i developed a crab dance that took the heat off me a little bit seems people can love crabs especially when they dance there was crab sex in a tent later that night who would have thought a crab could do such things
two things i have learnt about the crab one is that its teeth are located in its stomach so if i the crab happened to ask that sexy lady to just relax and rest her head on my stomach well you know the rest and secondly if a crab loses his claw in a battle he can just grow it back which would make piano playing interesting
if you want to see the crab dance or the man she says reminded her of crab you can see him and his wonderful talented band this SAT 25 and SUN 26 at the TOFF IN TOWN Swanston St MELB CITY show kicks off around 8 its 10 dollars cause of the recession see you there
