Drag shows, bingo, and casino runs. Raising money for the HIV and AIDS community. Educating. Making a difference.
In memory of Beth (Alexander Galloway).
Ti-Nea' Day; March 28th!
In 1995, during their 10th Anniversary show, Triangle of Hope honored two individuals who had given 10 years of volunteer service: Gary Hinze and Mary Brewster. Gary was honored with a plaque thanking him for his selfless service and spiritual guidance to Triangle of Hope, and Ti-Nea' presented emcee/Show Director Mary Brewster with a crown and dubbed her "Miss Triangle of Hope". In addition to the countless number of talented performers and volunteers who have donated their time and services, the real heroes are the individuals who have supported Triangle of Hope monitarily, making TOH the success that it is! Triangle of Hope also pays tribute and honors those members of TOH that have passed: Scott (Ethel), Ed, Ronnie (Rachel Hunter), and Beth (Alexander Galloway) and Gary.

About me: An all-volunteer "grass-roots" organization that was started in November of 1995, Triangle of Hope's main purpose to to raise money for individuals living with HIV and AIDS. Based out of Saint Paul's "Jewel of the Midway" Townhouse Bar, in the past 13 years, Triangle of Hope has put on hundreds of events, and have donated HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars HIV and AIDS organizations. They include: AIDS Care Partners, Agape House, Agape Dos, Clare House, Grace House, Hope House, Park House, The Minnesota AIDS Walk, The Minnesota AIDS Project, The Aliveness Project, District 202, Camp Heartland, Minnesota Men of Color and Top Shelf. In addition, members of Triangle of Hope have helped support: Animal Ark, The Minnesota Vixen Football team, Townhouse Arrest Softball team, Saint Paul Goodtime Bowling League and The Paul Bunyan Invitational Bowling Tournament. 100% of what Triangle of Hope raises during their events goes back to the HIV/AIDS community. That's right! 100%! Triangle of Hope has NO OVERHEAD. No administration fees, nothing. TOH's volunteers do this purely for the enjoyment of performing, and for the better of themselves, and of the community. How many other organizations can say that? The current board members of Triangle of Hope are: Lady Victoria (President), Richard (Treasurer), Folke (Fundraising), and Mary Brewster (Show Director). Many, many talented performers have helped Triangle of Hope throughout the past 13 years. To name them all would be impossible, there have been so many. However, Triangle of Hope acknowledges: Alexander Galloway, Anastasia, Barbara Gordon, Bubbles, Dizzy Diva, DJ, Dramatica, Esme', Lady Katie, Mys Tori, Rachel Hunter, and Ti-Nea' for going above and beyond their call of 'duty'. Many are no longer with Triangle of Hope, and some is no longer with us at all, but Triangle of Hope would be less for not knowing or working with them. TOH applauds you. In addition, we hold in high regard the memory of our founder, Gary Hinze. We love you and miss you.
Who I'd like to meet: GLBT's and allies around the world. Folks that strive to make a difference. In addition to drag shows, Triangle of Hope also puts together many 'non-drag' benefits throughout the year: bingo and casino runs are just a few of the additional ways TOH raises money. Triangle of Hope is always on the look out for people that would like to make donations to our cause. Any service you can offer, or, as always, monetary donations are accepted! Be sure to check our calendar to see what TOH is up to next! For more information on Triangle of Hope, be sure to check out Mary Brewster's MySpace: www.myspace.com/brewjay

"Desire" is the urgent longing to engage with someone or something that one has not yet experienced. How do our desires abound? What are the elemental factors and processes that drive desire and that push the limits of craving? How do we describe the intersections of want and need and "dying to have?" And when do we topple limits and boundaries, allowing desire to expand into fetish, addiction, and obsession?
Many times, we act out our desires in the ephemeral spaces and times which are produced through the creation of queer theater. The theories of excess and amplification, which are evidenced through drag queen performances, have set the scene for this journey through secretive and seductive compulsion. We will chisel through the fourth wall and invite the voyeuristic gaze of the public as we bare our tell-all stories, some quite "true-to-life" and others, artistically conceived and constructed.
On Thursday and Friday, January 15th and 16th, we will explore the intimacies, vulnerabilities, and strengths initiated by persistent longing. Hedonism, Narcissism, and Obsession will exhibit our presentational ideologies in a quest to explore and experience physical, emotional, and intellectual "highs" along with the audience. Bring your most taboo vice to share! Dragmanity is: DRAG-A-HOLIC! CALL BLB for tickets!!! 612-825-8949

Can you create it, dress it, imagine it, and bring it??? We are seeking talented Queens and one King for a new Drag Extravaganza at a popular Uptown Minneapolis location!!! The show will be every other month, beginning the third Thursday of October 2008. This will be a paid show.
Required: The esthetic is ‘high drag’ with a possible queer edge. This means creativity, wigs, full-face makeup, and costumes (nothing one would see from Target or Gap in the street, UNLESS you “Project Runway” the heck out of the thing and make it your own!) You must also have a positive attitude and be open to intelligent discussion and collaboration regarding the show.
Suggested: You think of drag performance as an art, an expression of creativity, individuality, and/or political response, a method by which to innovate fashion; in other words, something more than putting on a dress and lip-syncing. Experience preferred (drag and/or theater), amateur talent will be considered.
FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE SEND (AS SOON AS POSSIBLE:) 1.) YOUR NAME- (real and stage) 2.) EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL VISION OF DRAG AS A PERFORMANCE ART 3.) RECENT PHOTO TO: divadragqueen@yahoo.com
