Trinny Cee (Born Merina Deleon born 07/25/1975 Married 03/23/02 to become Merina Neal) is a Reggae Artist, Entertainer and Promoter. She has lived all over the world displaying and utilizing all of her lovely talents Jah has blessed her with. She got started in the industry at a small age doing numerous local talent shows in her home town Edmonton Alberta, Canada and then dabbling in the music industry in Hilo Hawaii were she lived for 4 years with her Aunt. Thanks to the influential love of music from her grandfather Ralph Deleon who is the cousin to the Great Trinidad Calypsonian the Roaring Lion she decided to follow the family footsteps. While completing high school in her mother’s home land of Port of Spain Trinidad, Merina started promoting local events in Maraval with some of the biggest deejays at the time such as Chinese Laundry. After graduating from school Merina returned home to Edmonton and produced a compilation CD with a local artist that got radio play across Canada thanks to a SOCAN Grant.
While visiting the Twin Cities Merina was introduced to Sean & Toni from Dimensions Sound. She refused to tell people she met her real name and once they realized she had the art of Deejaying & Singing Reggae Music they christened her with the name Trinny Cee represent Trinny for Trinidad and Cee for Canada. While assisting with Promotions for Dimension Sounds, Trinny Cee would also be a special guest Artist alongside Teacher U. Trinny Cee also had her signature sexy voice on several local KMOJ deejays radio spots and appeared as a cameo artist for great artists such as Steppa Ranks, Stereo Type Click, P-Family productions, and many others.
While visiting Minnesota, Trinny would return back to Canada to maintain her immigration status. This time she re-located to Winnipeg, Manitoba where she became a member of Stamina Sounds Reggae group Jah Vibes. She played one of the largest events in the Canadian Reggae Scene, BLACK-O-RAMA. This is when Trinny Knew Jah had definitely blessed her with a wonderful talent as the crowd that had never heard of her before adored her performance. She continued to perform with the group and travel back and forth thru the U S and Canada.
In September of 2006 after opening for Elephant Man @ Karma Night Club, Trinny Cee decided to go back into promotions. She became the first promoter to bring the Dancehall Queen competition to Minnesota with the blessings of the great Jamaican promoter Brian BIG HEAD Martin and what a success that has been. The Twin Cities Dancehall Scene has not been the same since June 2007. She has been tearing up the Dancehall Scene ever since with funding & promoting several successful events such as Sound Clash, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Half Pint, and STONE LOVE as well as Co Promoting with different promoters and artists. Stay tuned for another decade of great promotions and look out for Trinny Cee’s debut CD
