Influences
are influences the bands you listen to a lot who subconsciously creep into your songwriting or the bands that you actively try to rip off? the former would be dillinger four, rivethead, green day, propagandhi, most of the cometbus bands, and operation: cliff clavin. as for the ones i rip off -if you can't tell, i guess it's an original composition.
Sounds Like
everything else, only slightly worse.

TROUBLEMAKE: Feral: CD
Bittersweet and tinged with self-loathing, these guys play dirty pop punk with a nice, simple, melancholic early 90's feel, reminding me a lot of bands like the Larry Brrrds, The Kidz, and Jon Cougar Concentration Camp. Four songs, with only one of 'em topping the two-minute mark; back when Dead Beat was putting out J Church and Whatever records, they'd have been all over this band. As a listener, I'd suggest waiting to see what they hit us with next (even as a demo, this one comes across as a little rough-hewn), but they're definitely smacking me in the ear with the right kind of gloves. -Keith Rosson
TROUBLEMAKE: Feral: CD
Second CDEP by this fun punk band, proving punk rock is timeless—‘75, ‘79, ‘84, whatever, you can always be a loser to your parents, high school is always stupid, and girls don’t care. As long as you are making music in your bedroom, everything will be just fine. As Troublemake say, “High Fives to My Life Coach.” –Speedway Randy
TROUBLEMAKE: Staying Afloat in Florida: CD
Wow– 7 Secondsish, fast happy voiced punk, poppy but too quick for radio, really great homegrown rock from a tiny town. A snappy six songs in seven minutes. First song called “No Talent, So What?”, lasts fourty-three seconds, but I think there is talent here, as in DIY don’t care what the rules are, I like what I sound like, “talent."... He stole DVD cases out of Blockbuster dumpsters coz CD cases are expensive. Pencil made covers, lyric sheet is on paper he found in his Mom’s house after she moved, and has enough commentary on it that its basically a cool one page zine. And the music is cool. I hope this kid is like twelve years old and blaming society. He is the winner of all losers! Love it. -Speedway Randy
doesn't hate us!
TROUBLEMAKE: Feral: CD
This is fast, snotty pop punk that reminds me of the Insurgents. The songs are up-tempo with snotty vocals and crunchy guitars mixing with those simple (and kind of cheesy) lead guitar parts made famous by the Wease. If it's not new, at least it's pretty catchy. -Pete
is down!
TROUBLEMAKE: Feral: CD
Sloppy lo-fi bedroom recordings never sounded so good before. However before even getting to the actual music here, I would like to commend this band on the overall look of this demo, with a cardboard lyric sheet (each one hand numbered to 50) carefully holding the demo inside. Lucky enough for the lyric sheet , because believe me when listening to this you will need it, to fully understand what is exactly going on the first few times you give it a listen. I don’t mind the lo-fi sloppiness at all specially compared to what I find to be the downfall of this album and that being the lead guitars. They simply imitate the other instruments, never straying too far from the original formula and always sticking out like a sore thumb. However besides the artistic looks of the overall packaging, my favorite part of these four songs most definitely are the socially fitting and heartfelt lyrics, sung with emotion and angst similar to the sound of early Unseen albums. A complete opposite from all the stereotypical stuff we hear today, this demo has great songs despite its recording inabilities. -Noah W.K.
