From the grottes of hell rised up a disgusting slimily monster of gore: “The S.A.G.D.”
Five extrovert butchers founded the department in autumn 2004. In their homevillage Oberlangen in the Emsland (ass of the world) they wanted the people to convert to their holy religion of Death Metal (with influences of Heavy/Thrash/Black Metal and Gindcore). After some changes in the lineup the band consists of Chicken (1984; vox), Lord Crumb (1984; guitars, vox), King Cum (1986; guitars), BamBam (1985; drums) und Mr. Coffin (1983; bass).
This was followed by performances together with for example THE EXCREMENTORY GRINDFUCKERS, DEBAUCHERY, TANKARD and STORMWARRIOR. In april 2007 the five erotic gentlemen went into the ‘Soundlodge’ in Rhauderfehn (Ostfriesland). There they were recorded, mixed and mastered by Jörg Uken, the man who worked also together with GOD DETHRONED (Toxic Touch), DEW-SCENTED (Incinerate), TOXOCARA (Imminent Repulsion), SINISTER (The new one;)) and many more. The result of this cool time was the 3-track-EP named “Qagh”, which was released on 15.10.2007. The CD can be ordered over our e-mail-adress sagdepartment@web.de and it costs only 5 € incl. shipment.

From the grottes of hell rised up a disgusting slimily monster of gore: “The S.A.G.D.” Fünf extrovertierte Schlachter gründeten im Herbst 2004 das Department um in ihrem heimischen Emsland den Death Metal (gespickt mit ein bisschen Heavy/Thrash/Black Metal und Grind) salonfähig zu machen. Nach einigen anfänglichen Wechseln and der Gitarre und dem Bass besteht bis heute das LineUp aus Chicken (1984; Vox), Lord Crumb (1984; Guitars, Vox), King Cum (1986; Guitars), BamBam (1985; Drums) und Mr. Coffin (1983; Bass).
Es folgten Auftritte zusammen mit u.a. THE EXCREMENTORY GRINDFUCKERS, DEBAUCHERY, TANKARD und STORMWARRIOR. Im April 2007 gingen die fünf gut aussehenden Gentlemen nach Rhauderfehn ins „SOUNDLODGE“ von Produzent Jörg Uken, wo u.a. auch schon GOD DETHRONED, DEW-SCENTED, SINISTER und OSCENITY ihre Platten aufgenommen haben. Das resultierende Ergebnis aus dieser alkoholgeschwängerten Studiozeit ist die 3-Track-EP namens „QAGH“ (sprich: Gach), die am 15. September 2007 released wurde. THE SPLATTER AND GORE DEPARTMENT - Gentle Carnage II Sampler (2009)
Meine persönlichen Highlights habe ich im Exhumed-Klon Ultrawurscht, The Atmosfear und THE SPLATTER AND GORE DEPARTMENT gefunden. Bei letzteren gibt es recht harten, groove-orientierten Death Metal mit (coolen) Keyboards! Die Mischung klingt interessant und werde ich wohl noch weiter studieren!

Stilistisch sind alle dem Death Metal verpflichtet. Im Gaulmaul tummeln sich schleppend-atmosphärisch progressive Todesboten, wie etwa Brother Love Kain, die abwechslungsreichen THE SPLATTER AND GORE DEPARTMENT oder Dead Eyed Sleeper.

Dennoch ist die CD eine sehr schöne Zusammenstellung die viele Geschmäcker bedient und den geneigten Death Metal- oder Grindcore-Fan nicht enttäuscht. Mal ehrlich, wem läuft denn nicht das Wasser im Mund zusammen wenn er von Ultrawurscht, My Cold Embrace oder vom THE SPLATTER AND GORE DEPARTMENT hört.

Fazit: Geil. Die CD bringt es insgesamt nur auf eine knappe viertel Stunde Spielzeit und lief dementsprechend an die zehn mal hintereinander in meiner Anlage.
