T.S. Brooks is Thomas Sean Brooks, better known as front-guy for west coast stalwarts, Minmae, who along with Ian Watts, Josh Heinze, and Chris Lay, has commandeered some nine full-length records and countless singles, eps, and compilation contributions.
Brooks' solo work, not unlike Minmae, is pensive, internalizing, and haunting. Having released two under the radar CD-r albums, 'In Preparation for Dance' (Digitalis Industries, 2004), and 'Wunderkind' (Love Harder, 2005), Brooks readies himself for his first 'serious' above-ground release: 'Tertiary Allotment Is A Delightfulness; a collection of 12 songs on the San Francisco Three-Ring Records subsidiary, Snowstorm Music. Available NOW in the US (release date April 21st), T.S. debuted the album touring Germany and Spain for two weeks before returning to the U.S. to resume shows in Portland, San Francisco, San Francisco - just about anywhere his 2001 Nissan Altima would take him.
Brooks' music has been described as "quiet walks in a garden with a man who plays some guerilla in revolt...meandering and carefree, unlike his fragmentary existence on 'the other side.'"
Here is the official site to follow Brooks and his movements across the globe, replete with his newest songs and latest updates. Add him, message him, and he will gently play you ballads outside your window in the fragile-ist hours of the night.
