After an intense drinking session one weekend in late 2000 at the Morris st flat, Kris, Murray and Markham awoke to discover they had formed a Rock n' roll band.
After some more drinking Turbostill started playing shows all around the North Island with many appearances at Wednesday night Harvester's shows. Somewhere along the way we recorded the songs which became the 'Ohakune Carrot' album in 2001 with Craig Black engineering it at The Stomach. A couple more years of drunken roll followed and is now lost in an alchohol induced blur. In 2003 the followup to 'Ohakune Carrot', 'Distilled' was recorded and released at The stomach in Palmerston North with Hayden Sin doing the recording. another year of drunken gigging was followed with a final gig being performed at Guv'nor's Tavern in Palmerston North in May 2004. Due to the continued drinking of the band members it was decided that Turbostill would get together for an annual piss up and show. This has continued each year until 2008 where Turbostill was invited to play at the Maifarm festival in the Pohangina Valley on Nov 29th. This resulted in new songs being written and more gigs being played. Turbostill performed and then released A Live to air recording in May 2009. These songs and more are being recorded in early September for Turbostill’s third album. That's right! Turbostill are back and we've been drinking!
