TVfXQ Europe's Interests
|
| General | TVfXQ(DBSK or Tohoshinki in Japan) are currently one of the hottest groups from Korea, capturing complete Asia and slowly the rest of the world.
The group consists of 5 Members and even though they are often labeled as accappella, their music ranges from pop to ballads, over R'nB and Dance.
Their name means "Rising Gods from the East" and they have risen to superstars in Asia for sure.
Since their debut in 2003 they have released three Korean albums, three japanese Albums, live albums to their Korean Tours and a huge number of singles in japanese and korean, topping the Oricon Charts in Japan thrice. Their releases also came out in China and Taiwan.
25th December 2003 the dream of the five members, Kim Jaejoong, Jung Yunho, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu and Shim Changmin, became reality, when they debuted after training under SM Entertainment on a TV Show with BoA and Britney Spears.
Their first singles were Hug and The way you are and in 2004 the first album TRI-ANGLE followed. After establishing in Korea and becoming the most popular act they had to start at zero in Japan again, when their single Stay with me tonight was released there. In Autumn of the same year their second Korean album Rising Sun came out and reached #1 in Korea, just like the predecessor.
Early 2006 their first Japanese album Heart Mind and Soul was released, making them travel between Korea and Japan a lot. In the same year they held their first big Konzert at the Seoul Olympic Stadium and as their popularity in Malaysia and Thailand began to increase also concerts in those countries took place. Following they promoted their Japanese album with their first Japan tour.
The first time TVfXQ visited Europe was for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. After releasing the single Fighting Spirit of Dong Bang they got the chance to travel to Germany and visit the Korea vs France match.
Later this year the third Korean album O-Jung.Ban.Hap came out and was sold over 100.000 times in one Month. The jacket shooting for this Album brought them to Europe again, this time Prague, Czech Republic. Initially not all the fans were pleased with the image-changes of the group, still they recieved many awards like Best Group or Artist of the Year.
2007 The 2nd ASIAN TOUR CONCERT "O" started and they announced Concerts in 7 Asian countries, but started to concentrate on their Japanese activities again. The second Japanese album Five in the black made an impact and was followed by a Tour through Japan. Five in The Black was sold over 25.000 times in the first week and reached #10 in the Oricon Weekly Album Charts. Through the whole year another 8 Singles were released in Japan, including their first #1 entry SUMMER ~Summer Dream / Song for you / Love in the Ice~. For the third time they participated at Japans biggest pop festival A-Nation and performed in every city. For the third time the group travelled to Europe, this time Paris, France, to shoot the Bonjour Paris photobook pictures.
Early 2008 their single Purple Line topped the Oricon Charts on the first day, and also the Weekly Charts, making them the first Boyband to achieve this. The third Japanese Album T debuted on #2 in the Oricon Charts and even managed to reach #19 of the United World Charts. The Tour appertaining to the album was sold out quickly and was a complete success, attracting more than 150.000 fans. With their single Beautiful You / Sennen Koi Uta in April the again reached the #1 in the Daily and Weekly Oricon Charts, thus breaking the record as the first foreign Asian artist to top the weekly singles chart twice.
In May 2008 they also performed in the US at the 6th Annual Korean Music Festival in LA, California.
In July their next single Doushite kimi o suki ni natte shimattan darou? will come out and the fourth Korean album is scheduled for autumn this year.
