Practices are held on the Mississippi River in OUR OWN Hong Kong style dragon boat! The Sample Room has donated us a free season of docking our boat on their lovely dock. The Sample Room is located at:

Practice times are planned now for Tuesday and Friday nights at 6:30 pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm. I would like team members to be at one practice per week, but attendance at all 3 is open to all team members.
Team dues this season will be $125, which includes your team shirt. This pays for all 3 races and the shirt, which we will have to print this year with our new sponsors on the back. The style will be black and white baseball t again with the same kickass logo. There are no coaching or equipment or docking fees, so for 3 practices a week (coached - it's a workout!) and 3 races for the summer it's quite a good price. Checks can be made out to Twin City Dragons. If you have an issue paying please talk to Georgia and we can work out a payment plan.
July 12 and 13 - St. Paul Dragon Festival, Lake Phalen. Actual races are Sunday, practice in the race boat will be Saturday afternoon. No overnight. This race is in Taiwanese-style flag catching boats.

July 25, 26 and 27 - North Shore Dragon Boat Festival in Grand Marais. Actual
races are on Saturday. Practice in the Hong Kong style boat is on Friday. You will need off Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Overnight is necessary. Last year most camped at the municipal campground.

August 22, 23 and 24- Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival in Superior, WI. Actual races are on Saturday. Practice in the Hong Kong style race boat is on Friday. Overnight is necessary. They give us a chance to practice a week before in the race boat as well.

We did the same 3 races summer 2007 as we did summer 2006. We are doing the same 3 races in summer 2008.
We had a great racing season summer 2006 and ended up in the gold echelon in our last race of the summer! We are currently raising money for our own boat so we can get back out on the water in the spring. We had an amazing first season, competing in 3 races total!
Besides working to get our own boat, we are also looking into starting our own Dragon Boat Festival.

I read right through that earlier! :-) I don't see the Manitoba Dragon Boating Festival on your list. :-( We're right north of ya too!! About 8 hours driving time from Minne/StPaul. Do you have any relations with Manitoba teams currently? (rawr!!)
