A promising collection of songs that display an impressive amount of weight considering most of them are centred around an instrument that weighs about as much as an apple... Immediately likeable and full of nuances to pick over. - Drowned in Sound
The KCRW's of the world should be all over this. - Jonathan L, JL Radio
Promising singer/songwriter Solomon has a sensitive touch and an ear for
pop ballads. - Time Out New York
A stellar debut. - Bullz-Eye
His sound is a cross between a younger Elvis Costello and Rufus Wainwright. His talent will most assuredly bloom. - The Deli Magazine
Solomon has enough practical musicianship to turn oddities into very successful, brainy-complex pop songs. - New York Press
The music has a strong appeal that the listener wont be able to get enough of. [The] vocals are soulful and beautiful! The melodies are outstanding.
Overall Score: 94/100 - VH1 Song of the Year
Tiny Bio
Jeff Solomon is a classically trained composer and singer/songwriter who plays the baritone ukulele, piano, saxophone and a bunch of other doo-dads. He's also one of the five founding members of Elephant Larry, a NY-based sketch comedy group. If you are a person, Jeff probably wants to meet you. If you're a musician or comedian, Jeff probably wants to meet you twice.
For a more extensive treatise on Jeff's childhood, studenthood, etc., check out the bio at Jeff's site.
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the ukulele pop, and please leave a message...
