Ulvhedinn started back in 1999 as a band called Althing. The line-up was: Ulvhedinn (guitar, vocals), Józef Plata (bass) and Janusz Kutkowski (guitar). There was no drummer at that time, which continues till present.
Althing was formed as a black metal act with strong Scandinavian influence. It was to create music mixing mid-90ties Black Metal with folk/medieval music and Norse sagas/mythology lyrics. During season 1999/2000 material for first demo was created and recorded as a rehearsal tape (never to be released). Shortly after Janusz was forced to leave the band.
After few years of unsuccessful attempts to complete the line-up Kamil Baranowski joins as a guitarist. In the meantime Józef quits the band due to change in musical interests, and Ulvhedinn decides to carry the basses on as well. Althing met the year 2003 as a two-piece act, with Ulvhedinn playing guitars, basses, vocals, programming, mungiga and Kamil Baranowski guitars, flutes, bagpipes.
The new music was continuation of previous style, with sligthly more dark and ethnic attitude. Kamil (previously in some pipebands) also brought some Celtic influences into the project. In the following year material for the second demo "Fedderens Skygge" was written.
In February 2004 demo was recorded in Szerszen Studio, but as a result of major brakedown it lacks most of Kamils parts and the quality of sound is below acceptable.
Since then due to personal reasons Ulvhedinn continues as a self-named solo project.
Year 2005 was spent on composing and pre-production of full-lenght album entitled "Seidr". It was when Fiosaiche started to cooperate as a session member.
In 2006 the path chosen on "Seidr" was considered a dead end and the whole material was abandoned. Composing started from the beginning with a completely new approach.
Year 2007 began with new music and Fiosaiche as a full time member.
