We are Uncle Flatty; a union forged of friendship, built on a love for music, and driven by the idea of unrestricted creativity. We’re working out the details for upcoming shows, and I’ll post them upon completion. UF is also planning on getting in the studio some time this summer; we’ll let you know as soon as we figure it out.

Desmond McCaffrey: Bass, Guitar, vocals-Started gigging out at the age of 8 in the Irish Folk equivalent of The Partridge Family. Got my first bass at age 11 along with an AC/DC eight track tape with the exhortation "Play this LOUD" taped to the front...and I did, for a long time. Picked up a 5 piece Gretsch kit at 12, realized during puberty that the singers got the girl and the drummers got to load gear...so, broke several guitars and mic stands in high school and college only to return to bass in a state of hardrocknumetalgrunge addled dysfunction. Now that I am older and more mat...well older, it’s back to the roots of what makes music make us feel good. What makes me feel good is playing guitar, bass, mandolin, or whatever is lying around and singing. So, that's what I do.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------Amanda Just: Viola, accordion- I am a true violist. I picked the viola as my instrument at the age of 8-- there was something about it that made me feel like I was supposed to play it. I was classically trained, although I always favored classical-folk music such as Bela Bartok. As a kid, I would play viola with the radio, creating viola parts for my favorite songs. As an adult, I have created viola parts for jazz, rock, blues, folk and reggae music for people from around the world, and Charlie Daniels himself gave me the bow I use. My main influences are Gypsy and folk music, and I have enjoyed recording with artists ranging from folk musician Patrick McGuigan to Christine Ohlman of Saturday Night Live fame.--------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------Jim Gannotti: Bass, Guitar, vocals-Honestly, don't get much time to devote to music, as it has to happen inbetwixt making money, making home, and making kids. Picked up guitar in HS, and just now picking up a banjo even though there were two working ones in my home when I was young. So far so good. True music comes from putting things together with those you can stand to be around. Otherwise, it too becomes a "make". For me, getting the girl never had to do with what instrument you played, always whether or not you were taller than it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Paul UF Robertson: Harp, Bass, Vocals-Mom gave me my first harmonica on Christmas 1969. In 1975, when personal tragedy struck, I truly learned to play the Blues (as much as a white guy can). My influences include Beatles, The Who, Squeeze, Stevie Wonder, The Meters, Little Walter, John Hiaat and many others. I love playing bass because it is so unlike the harp. My greatest achievements were graduating from RISD and riding my BMW motorcycle 11,000 miles in 45 days. I like this band.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
Rick D'Elia: Drums-Can't remember not playing drums, but I got serious at about 14. I grew up in a house full of drummers (my mother is a saint); My father Joe Sr. has been playing out for about 55 years, and my brother Joe Jr. for a solid 30 years, ego was never an issue. I wanted to be a pro baseball player, but when the time came to choose between icing my knees and showering with other guys, or parties free libations & girls, I had to go with the ladder. By the way, Desmond was doing something wrong, ‘cause drummers get the girls also, and if you ask nice, they'll haul your stuff. Making music keeps me as sane as I can possibly be, and I couldn’t be in better company. I truly Love my band mates in a strictly mostly platonic way. I drum.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
