Il gruppo nasce alla fine del 2009 su iniziativa del chitarrista Lorenzo Costantini e del bassista Claudio Maimone, vere e proprie memorie storiche di quel momento magico vissuto in Italia nei primi anni ’70 di cui i concerti dei Jethro Tull rappresentano una chiave di lettura fondamentale nel panorama non solo musicale ma anche socio-culturale e di costume. L’intento dei nostri è proprio quello di cercare di ricreare quell’energia che i Jethro Tull dei primi anni sapevano trasmettere dal vivo, anche per tramandare alle generazioni più giovani un’eredità, un patrimonio di emozioni uniche accumulato assistendo alle performance più rappresentative del gruppo di Ian Anderson sia in Italia (al Teatro Brancaccio di Roma nel 1971 e al PalaEur sempre a Roma nel 1972) che all’estero (Festival dell’Isola di Wight nel 1970). Ad accompagnarli in questa fantastica avventura il flautista e cantante Alex Mevi, già attivo con il duo acustico “The Whistlers”, che ripropone il lato acustico dei Jethro Tull, il tastierista Gianluca de’ Rossi, che con i “Taproban” prima e “De Rossi & Bordini” poi, ha saputo crearsi un nome nel panorama odierno del Progressive Rock italiano, e Gabriele Cannone, "solido" batterista proveniente dalla scena romana rock e blues. ************************************************************************************* The band was created at the end of 2009 by the guitarist Lorenzo Costantini and the bass player Claudio Maimone, real historical memories of that magical moment experienced in Italy in the early '70s. Looking back at that time, Jethro Tull live performances are a key to understand this particular historical period, not only on a musical point of view but social and cultural too. Together with the flutist/singer Alex Mevi, already active in the acoustic duo named "The Whistlers," performing live the acoustic side of Jethro Tull, there are the keyboards player Gianluca de’ Rossi and the “solid” drummer Gabriele Cannone. The first, with "Taproban" before and "De Rossi & Bordini" then, was able to impose himself in today's landscape of Italian Progressive Rock, the second played rock, blues and psychedelic music in bands like “Fingernails”, “Rude”, “Childhood” and Walkin’ Blues Band”. They both try to recreate the same energy that the early Jethro Tull transmitted on stage, in order to pass down younger generations an heritage of unique emotions by witnessing the most representative gigs of Ian Anderson’s Group, both in Italy (Teatro Brancaccio, Rome, on February 1971 and Palaeur, Rome, on February 1972) and abroad (Isle of Wight Festival, August 1970).
