Union Made is the consummation of four varied schools of rock. Two brothers, Seth and Alan combine to provide the fingered funk on a five string jazz bass and a handful of guitars and amps. Both swap influences while remaining competitive and uniquely collaborative in their song writing process. Their connection is supremely temporal, with an almost telepathic understanding of each other’s playing style. When one devises a most excellent riff or section of a song, the other is there to devise a new way of playing it, often creating smoother transitions between song sections. Alan has crafted a unique guitar style with direct allegiance to the sounds of early rock, while providing new and innovative blues funk. Seth’s bass style injects elements of funk while toying with the off-beats of a more jazz based player. Jorge adds a mean punk-rock tinged drumming style to the group, with an understanding of what is needed to holding the down stroke while accentuating the back beat. Jorge also provides the backbone that keeps the others from going off on too many tangents. Jorge brought advanced liver function to the group and a harder edge punk rock style that has released the beast in the bands recent studio and stage work.
The newest addition to Union Made is their frontman, Drew Petrone. Drew has adds a flair for reggae tinged melodies while maintaining a rock edge. Drew joined in June 06 and quickly learned most of the bands songs and continues to work on new material with the group. All four members add vocals to the songs, trading lead and back-up duties. This allows them all to personally interact with the crowd in a live setting. With each sharing vocals duties, Union Made is able to further explore each members unique influences and personalities that provide pure entertainment.
Union Made has been a welcomed recent addition to the Central Florida area music scene, which is a scene filled primarily with the sounds of metal, new rock, and new wave emo-pop-punk bands. Their musical interpretation on their vast musical influences is only superseded by the stage energy and inherit desire to entertain. Union Made’s live shows are usually filled with fast flying funk and quick breaks of witty banter, which keeps both the audience and the band on their toes wondering what will happen next. In the relatively short year the groups lineup has been complete, they are making musical waves with both music lovers, musicians and anybody that wants to have fun and party. The boys in the band love music so much you don’t have to go very far in Orlando to bump into one of them out enjoying the local musical offerings.
