Erstmals im Dezember 2002 an die Öffentlichkeit getreten, ist das Soundsystem UPLIFTMENT INTERNATIONAL zur führenden Grösse der Leipziger Dancehall-Szene avanciert.
Über die Jahre veränderte sich die ursprüngliche Zusammensetzung des Sounds, neue Crewmitglieder kamen hinzu während sich andere auf ihr Altenteil zurückzogen und so ist MIGHTY FLO aka Faada Upliftment heute einziges verbleibendes Gründungsmitglied von Leipzigs Vorzeigesoundsystem. Weiterhin dabei ist JAKOB, welcher sich nach langem Irren durch die deutschen Lande zur Zeit mit Frontberichterstattung aus der bajuvarischen Hemisphäre hervortut.
Ob in winzigen Clubs oder auf grossen Bühnen: UPLIFTMENT INTERNATIONAL ist nicht nur der Name, sondern auch Anspruch und Motto des Sounds. Wo Upliftment angesagt ist, wird das Publikum zum Abheben animiert, im physischen wie spirtuellen Sinne.
Das Repertoire umfasst mit Rocksteady, Ska und Reggae/Dancehall nicht nur die komplette Bandbreite aktueller jamaikanischer Musik, es findet auch das ein oder andere HipHop- oder R'n'B-Vinyl seinen Weg auf die Plattenteller. Nicht zu vergessen sind auch die zahlreichen Dubplatespecials sowie überraschend abwechslungsreichen Remixe aus der Schmiede von MIGHTY FLO, welche dem Sound ihren besonderen Charakter verleihen.

Over the years, different people played UPLIFTMENT INTERNATIONAL, out of the original crew there is one member left: MIGHTY FLO a.k.a. Faada Upliftment. Partner in crime but missing in action is JAKOB, who after a long time trodding the whole of Germany right now reports from the garrisons of Bavaria.
