He’s taken care of you. Please help take care of him. Darick Schmidt is a UWM student, a lifelong Milwaukeean, and has been your bartender at The BBC for almost a decade. Whether you've known him for years or just for a round, you'd have to agree that he's one of the nicest guys you'd ever run into on North Ave. On June 22nd, Darick underwent emergency, life-saving surgery due to complications from a rare condition known as Zollinger- Ellison’s Syndrome (ZES). While a ZES diagnosis used to be a death sentence, Darick will be able to resume a normal life once he recovers. However, after being in a medically-induced coma for over a month, Darick will have to again learn how to stand, walk, and even eat. So, for the times he's taken care of you, we need you – his adoptive Milwaukee family - to step up to the bar for him on Saturday, August 21st at The BBC. There is going to be music, swag, plenty of the usual suspects, and most of all, the proceeds will all go to help Darick’s recovery. It might be the easiest good deed you’ve ever done. And no
