About me:
Help us fight to keep chickens in Oklahoma City limits!
In appreciation of the ever growing popularity of green/organic living, many cities allow chickens, providing they are kept clean and healthy and are contained in an adequately sized and maintained run and coop. Oklahoma City is not on that list, as we found out yesterday when we came home to a zoning violation on our door that said we cannot keep livestock on less than one acre. Livestock in OKC includes horses, cows, sheep, and chickens. Help us fight to lift OKC up to the standards set by other major cities, instead of turning our backs on the green movement.
Urban/backyard chickens make great pets. They're intelligent, adorable, and provide eggs for breakfast! Plus, home grown eggs are healthier and fresher than store bought eggs. You don't need a rooster to get eggs, so you don't have to worry about noise because hens don't crow.
