Founded in Rome, Italy in early 2002, Vanilla Sky has been identified as the earliest alternative pop punk band in the country, having successfully toured the EU and Japan since the release of their first self-produced EP, "Play It If You Can't Say It".
With their first LP, "Waiting For Something" [2004], the band was able to gain respect and fans from all over the world with a never ending scheduled tour, supporting bands like The Ataris, Yellowcard, Maxeen, The Offspring, and Further Seems Forever.
Vanilla Sky's latest album, "Changes," was signed to Universal, a major label, as an energetic, alternative power pop record, featuring Mark Hoppus (+44/Blink182) on the track, "Nightmare." The band promoted the record while opening for Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte, +44, and joining major music festivals like Frequency Festival, Nova Rock and Give It A Name. After headlining a tour across EU the band reached the top with their "Umbrella" cover, whose music video parody landed them on the charts from several countries.
At the moment, Vanilla Sky is recording their 3rd LP which is expected to be released in late 2009.
