Anthony Marr	Jul 1 2009 10:27 PM For 30 years, Jan Haagensen has been harassed and her farm in PA invaded with impunity by hunters, and her NO HUNTING signs and fences repeatedly torn down. 10 years ago, she had had enough, and approached the trespassing hunters to ask them to leave, and asked a hunter engaged in illegal hunting to cease and desist. When a hunter threatened to shoot her and her mother, she called police, which sided chummily with the hunters, and later charged her with 5 counts of "hunter harassment". The "kangaroo court" convicted her on all 5 counts. Being an attorney, she appealed to the appellate court and won, and is now challenging the PA Hunter Harassment Statute in federal court as being unconstitutional for inhibiting free speech and violating property rights. If she wins, doors will be open for challenging the equally unconstitutional Hunter Harassment laws of other states. church of the angels	Jun 20 2009 1:02 PM i about freaked out- i read the title as support heifer int- not do NOT support- Big dif- but, give people viable alternatives- there are several Clean Water Projects that are quite good, and well worth supporting- please select a few and give them to people as a way to help without torturing animals and ruining the earth (read the un report livestock's long shadow and recommend it to all, there is a pdf file avail online, and everyone should know that heifer is causing the death of people by ruining their land, as well as the immediate suffering of the animal) i find giving people an alternative way to help gets the message across AND gives them a Positive way to participate! phyllis

Opposition to Macmillan's cruel Fishing event	May 28 2009 10:27 AM On June 13th 2009, the charity Macmillan Cancer Support is holding its annual 'Big Fish' event to raise funds, where people are sponsored to fish and can win prizes such as for the heaviest fish caught. Ironically, the founder of Macmillan Cancer Support, Douglas Macmillan, was himself a vegetarian and an outspoken advocate for animal welfare!! THERE IS VERY LITTLE TIME LEFT!
