  • Bio

Veteran Singer/Songwriter Vince Smith has been entertaining audiences both with bands and more recently as a solo artist for over 20 years. His simple style and powerful writing and hooks will suck you in and never let you go. Vince is unique in the fact that he plays a right handed guitar left handed... in other words, he plays upside down! Amazingly enough, he can play very well this way while singing, which makes for a unique live experience. .. .. .. ..He is recording a full-length acoustic CD entitled "Anthology In Acoustic" that will be released on October 17th, 2009 as well as currently writing material for a full-length CD intended for release in 2010. .. .. ..He began his career as a vocalist and/or bassist in bands such as Black Rose, Shady Lane and Cry Wolf among others back in the late 80's/early 90's, playing rock and metal originals on stages all over metro Detroit. In and out of bands throughout the 90's, Vince began to write a lot of songs on the acoustic guitar and started playing solo gigs here and there at parties and such as well as with bands. .. .. ..In 1998, he recorded the first song of an album that was never completed called "Last Call For The Sober" which was the song "Killing Time" and it became his signature song over the years that followed. .. .. ..Vince now mainly plays solo acoustic shows, as well as sitting in with other local musicians in the Detroit area. He plays guitar as well as bass guitar and has an amazing and powerful voice that has a great range and a soulful conviction that brings warmth and depth to his performances. .. .. ..www.amazon.com... ..

.. .... .. .. .. .. .. .................... .. ..My main influence for my acoustic endeavors is the incomparable Edwin McCain. I am influenced by many different types of music including alternative, rock, pop, acoustic and more. Some other influences over the years include Matchbox 20, Hootie and the Blowfish, Fuel, City And Colour, Incubus, Our Lady Peace, etc.. I also love to listen to heavier progressive stuff that is nothing like what I play including Dream Theater, Queensryche, Rush, Black Sabbath... too many to list here. I love music that has emotional weight both in the music and the lyrics and has a melodic presence. .. ..
