The Vinterblot project was born from the ashes of the Regicide project, a nearly unknown band, which started as a Thrash-core band made of c.k.p., Wolf (Francesco) and Cliff (Matteo).
Morke (Fabio) and Burpgod (Lorenzo) joined the band later.
Morke’s presence influences the band leading them to Progressive-Death metal and Viking metal.
PRESENT
Later c.k.p leaves and Nivlheim (Giuseppe) joins the band after a few rehearsals. He favours Black metal like Morke.
In summer 2008 Vinterblot is born with this line-up:
Wolf – drum
Cliff – bass
Morke and Burp God – guitars
Nivlheim – vocals.
The band generally jam up and rehearse on songs by Amon Amarth.
Successively the band starts to develop original material, combining Viking metal with the speed and heaviness of Black metal, with lyrics about Norse mythology and culture, paganism and local culture.
The choice concerning the lyrics’ themes is due to not only the passion for Northern and pagan culture that Nivlheim and Morke share, but also due to the local historical context. The area surrounding Bari was once ruled by Normans since Robert Guiscard, Roger I and Roger II.
FUTURE
The band is composing original songs and enhancing musical instrumentation.
The first tracks of the demo are in progress and it will probably be out on Summer. The first live gigs are also near.
Other pre-productions will be soon out.
In May 09' Nivlheim left the band, and we are searching for a singer.

Vinterblot si sviluppa dal progetto Regicide, gruppo underground poco conosciuto, partito inizialmente suonando thrash misto core, ideato da c.k.p., Wolf (Francesco) e Cliff (Matteo).
Successivamente entrano nella line up del gruppo anche Morke ( Fabio) e Burp God ( Lorenzo).
La presenza di Morke comincia a portare il gruppo sul genere death progressive e successivamente sul viking.
A c.k.p. subentra, in modo definitivo, dopo alcune prove il nuovo cantante Nivlheim (Giuseppe) con gusti musicali simili a quelli di Morke ed orientati sostanzialmente sul black metal.
Nascono così nell’estate 2008 i Vinterblot (inizialmente Bloodhemn)
Con la line up così composta: Wolf (batteria), Cliff ( basso), Morke e Burp God alle chitarre e Nivlheim cantante, il nuovo gruppo si attesta sul genere viking provando alcune cover degli Amon Amarth.
Successivamente comincia la produzione di musica propria principalmente identificabile nel genere viking epico con accenni alle sonorità veloci e dure del black metal, e con testi che attingono dalla cultura nordico - norrena, al paganesimo ed alla cultura del luogo.
I motivi della scelta stilistica viking sono legati, di fatto, oltre che alla passione per la cultura norrena e pagana che accomuna Nivlheim e Morke, al contesto storico locale di un territorio che conobbe il dominio normanno-svevo dai tempi di Roberto d’Altavilla il Guiscardo Ruggero I e Ruggero II.
Partendo da tali presupposti, il gruppo comincia a comporre propri brani musicali ed al contempo ad aggiornare la strumentazione a disposizione aumentandone qualità e potenza.
Al momento sono terminate le tracce del demo - Ep, che presumibilmente sarà disponibile verso fine estate, e proseguono le prove per i primi live.
Presto saranno pubblicate ulteriori prime pre - produzioni .
A maggio 09' Kvasir lascia la band e attualmente i Vinterblot cercano cantante
