Our 'Bring, Bring! The Morn and Bike 'Til Dawn EP' clawed to no 21. in Artrockers singles of the year CLICK HEREto purchase!
Tasty, barbed morsels snatched from the fingers, mouths and hearts of PJ Harvey, Sleater-Kinney and Huggy Bear, heavily seasoned with violet violet's own arty brand of vibrant wit and wisdom. This is gossip rock. It's edgy, prowling, harmoniously delivered by a pair of sardonic sirens. Tumbling tunes stuffed full of primal tribal rhythms, gyrating guitars and a dual-pronged lead vocal attack. This gossip rocking dynamic duo is causing quite a stir in the media jungle.
Having been spotted in Everett True’s Plan B mag, an Artrocker 'New Blood' feature and a coveted slot in the NME, the gals received airplay from 6 music, Resonance FM and Radio 1, where they were branded one of Steve Lamacq's 'New Favourite Bands'.
Indeed, their quirky approach has charmed a few cats in the industry too, including Brummie punk legends The Nightingales, who the girls have toured with in America, Europe and their native UK. Oh, and Art Brut's Eddie Argos personally invited vv to perform as his backing band at London’s Buffalo Bar.
With a new band-dynamic and their second strident album, The City is Full of Beasts, on release in every beast-ridden location this summer, get set for another thrilling assault on your senses.
“vv’s trademark thunderous and inventive drumming, jagged guitar and pitch-perfect harmonising are all here. And the subject matter neatly encapsulates violet violet’s mojo: the capacity to combine edginess with fun – a very difficult feat to achieve.” Richard Davis, Artrocker.
