VjVISUALOOP is a media art project by Paolo VjV Branca.

"Videogames are not only a matter of a continue research of better realism.
Videogames are also a kind of abstraction, as they reflect the historical development of hardware and software through their scenes.
A reflection on the ancient amusement decade of the '80, for a new age of collective play".

VjVISUALOOP (Paolo VjV Branca, Milan 1981, Italy) makes audiovisual performances, videos, artworks and interactive installations. His artworks are featured with images, sounds and self-made low resolution 8bits animations.

He started making computer graphics and producing electronic music in the early 90ies. Later, he discovered the emerging 8-bit scene and vjing. So, he decided to combine his particular visual style with his passion for chiptunes sounds.

He has been participating to many events and contests since 2005. Just to mention some of them, he performed in "Milano Film Festival", "Where is 107" and "LABoral". His artworks were exposed in exhibitions like "Playlist" in Spain and Belgium, "Atopic Machinima Film Festival" in France, "Neoludica" in Biennale of Venice, and "Nam June Paik Summer Festival" in South Korea.

Presently, he makes interactive visual installations by modifying old coin-op videogames from the 80ies. He also continuously improves his performances.
