It's not the most typical thing to top national album charts with a progressive and challenging rock album. That's what Von Hertzen Brothers have done with their latest opus "Love Remains The Same".
Mikko explains: "We share the same blood and all of us three share the same tendency towards a megalomaniac expression. Thus, on this latest album we wanted to really push ourselves to our very limits and create a massive and full sound that is impossible to ignore. Like the old saying goes: "You can't really go over it, you can't go under it, you can't go around it, you just have to dive into it".
The previous album "Approach" has a gold status in Finland and the band is well known for it's energetic live performances. On stage, their passionate and huge-sounding music seems to get even another dimension. Although impossible to mention a single genre for these "mad brothers of rock", their influences range from AC/DC and Black Sabbath to Nick Drake, U2 and Jimi Hendrix. Just to mention a few.
The songs are full of longing and fascinating stories about love and glories of life. Mikko says their lyrics are partly inspired by writers such as William Blake, classic Indian authors as well as numerous well-known Finnish poets. But eventually, all the songs originate from the deep yearning for freedom and peace of mind that the brothers feel.
"von Hertzen" is german and means "from the heart", mikko explains. "That's what we try to always keep in mind when writing or performing. We feel the music is pretty much useless, if it doesn't come from our hearts. The point of music, any kind of music, is to create wonderful experiences that are somehow elevating and encouraging. That's our mission. The music is our instrument".

Albums
* Experience (2001)
- In the beginning of a new millenium, Mikko Von Hertzen asked his brothers if they want to share a vision. Debut album "Experience" was born. It was released in Finland by BMG Music, today known as SONY music.
* Approach (2006)
- "Approach" took four years to complete. The album became a huge success and reached gold status and Finland as well as a Finnish grammy for the "Best Rock Album of the year 2006".
* Love Remains The Same (2008)
- "Love Remains The Same" is the most gigantic piece of art by Von Hertzen Brothers. Released in Finland in May 2008 it stayed three weeks as 1 on the national sales chart. The album includes the hit singles "Faded Photographs", "Freedom Fighter" and "In the End".
Performances
- The sharpest and classiest live band in Finland. Period.
The interesting fact
- The band features three brothers. It delivers the special feeling to the whole thing when there are guys sharing the same blood. Because of that, there's certain deepness in the band's sound that others lack.
Olemme lähiaikoina ahertaneet studiolla kolmen uuden Dawn Sessions -biisin parissa ja nyt vihdoin ensimmäinen näistä "Equanimity " on valmis, kuten myös parempilaatuinen uusintaversio vanhemmasta "This Time"-kappaleesta. Tervetuloa sivuillemme tsekkaamaan ja kommentoimaan näitä, lisää seuraa toivottavasti jo pian... :)

Hei guys!! Kiitos for adding me :) I'm very happy. I first met you at "FINLAND FEST 07" in Japan. Do you remember this gig? And I like your music since then :) Today, I went to Asakusa, famous sightseeing area in Japan.(Look my ava!) Have you been there? I'm waiting for your next coming!
