About me:
Hey guys!
Are you tired of nothing to do in Albuquerque? Do you want to do the same old thing all the time, or would you like a new venue built with YOUR ideas and views, where you could go to listen to music, dance, create, and learn new skills?
Well, we have your answer to that question. Warehouse 508. Warehouse 508 is a new all ages venue for the arts, music and beyond. Warehouse 508 will be inspired by the youth and built by the community of Albuquerque.
Warehouse 508 is currently in its planning stages and will not be open until Spring 2009. We need YOUR ideas to make it grow. We want people from all walks of life, who are willing to work towards a common goal of a Safe, Positive and Creative venue for everyone in Albuquerque, New Mexico and beyond.
Who are we? We are a diverse group of community members who are committed to a common goal of creating a safe, positive, dynamic and all ages venue for the arts, music, media and beyond in Albuquerque. Warehouse 508 will be that venue.
Warehouse 508 will create a new venue for the expression of the arts in ABQ and New Mexico with a focus on the voice and needs of the youth community. It will create a positive movement towards art, with a focus on education, creation and sustainable entertainment.
Warehouse 508 will be extremely important in Albuquerque, and beyond, because of current lack of safe, open-minded and all ages venues which give the youth of our city a place to go and learn skills they don’t learn in schools or other programs. Warehouse 508 will give the youth something else to do than go to the mall, watch TV or sit on Myspace. Warehouse 508 will work to bring together the other arts programs of New Mexico, and to create a thriving community built on these goals.
If you would like to get involved with Warehouse 508, we have meetings almost every Saturday from 2-4 at Warehouse 508 @ 508 1st St. NE, Albuquerque, NM (formerly the Ice House)
