on the raft
on my belly
my arm leaning over the side

soaking deep cuts carved by rope
I was clinging to

marooned like
some kind of driftwood

I think of the lighthouse keeper
I try to think of one thing
but it always turns out to be two

beacon slowly turning round

up and down
round and round

in my mind
I even hear the foghorn
moan

on my back now
thundercloud over me
it bursts
filling my open mouth
surprise
