“This band sounds great! songs are well-crafted, the live energy is high, this is a band not afraid to try anything!” - Silverman Review, NYC Led by reclusive singer/songwriter Ben Garrett, who wrote many of the songs for the project while holding his breath underwater, Waves is a band bent on high adventure. After meeting on an Alaskan king crabbing boat, Ben and drummer Tony Porter decided the world needed more musicians and less fisherman. When they picked up bassist Adam Abrams after a speed and cheese party and discovered his obsession with short-wave radio, Waves was born. “We’re bombarded with waves of various sorts every day,” explains Adam, “some of them contain the truth, but most contain lies. Some of them can heat your food.” Evident is a love of diverse musical genres. Combining handsome songs, alt-country/Americana influences with hip-hop beats, art-rock leanings and nods to a plethora of other genres, Waves is a fantastic and unique musical experience. Enjoy!

MPP is the largest marijuana policy reform organization in the United States. Founded in 1995, MPP works to minimize the harm associated with marijuana -- both the consumption of marijuana and the laws that are intended to prohibit its use. MPP believes that the greatest harm associated with marijuana is prison. To this end, MPP focuses on removing criminal penalties for marijuana use, with a particular emphasis on making marijuana medically available to seriously ill people who have the approval of their doctors. MPP doesn't encourage marijuana use. But our failed marijuana laws cost taxpayers billions of dollars a year, keep police from focusing on real crimes, and fail to keep marijuana away from kids. We believe it's time for a new approach-- taxation and regulation. Sincerely, The Marijuana Policy Project
