Weapons of Mass Defunktion is one of the newest groups coming up on the Madison music scene creating a worthy buzz. Influences come from all walks of music including funk, jazz, hip-hop, r&b, rock and reggae and the overall sound brings a fresh and daring approach to the vibe on the live music scene. The band consists of bassist Lucas Koehler(Nuggarnaut), guitarist Steve Truesdell(Kingtown Rockers,Natty Nation alum), and rounding out the groove collective is sax player Pete Ross(Clyde Stubblefield), Raquel Aleman(Que Flavor) on vocals, Jay Goya(DJ),Rob Dz(MC), Raphe Boehn on percussion and Tim Russell on drums. The live show always brings an intense, groove that fills the crowd with energy and an all around positive vibe that packs the dance floor. The band is currently getting working on new material for a 2009 release.

It’s hard to believe, but FGC’s only Wisconsin show of the fall is this Thursday 10/29 at the Miramar Theater in Milwaukee. We’re planning on making it a good one, so hope to see you there!

FGC is back in Wisconsin this Saturday 8/29 for a special show at Tanner’s Grill and Bar in Kimberly, WI. The second annual “Family Affair� will feature several bands, a free pre-party, vendors, and more, all benefitting the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. This is an ALL AGES show! FGC hits the Memorial Union Terrace at UW-Madison for a FREE SHOW on Saturday July 18, with special guests, The Bridge, opening the night. This is sure to be a fun night of music in one of Madison’s most beautiful settings, and we hope you can join us!
Also coming up in Wisconsin at the end of the month is The 3G’s Music Festival (aka Grateful Garcia Gathering) in Black River Falls. It’s the 6th annual celebration of Jerry Garcia’s birthday, and FGC will be headlining the festivities on Saturday August 1.
