Create (!) is a free form ensemble consisting of over 50 members since its inception in 1999. Create (!) has performed at jazz festivals, public libraries and in the rain on the street, nearly suffering electrocution many times over. They have served as collaborator along side Castanets, Freestyle Fellowship producer Omid, and installation artists Megan and Murray McMillan. Create (!) founders Orlando Greenhill, formerly of Havalina, and Chris Schlarb (producer and Sounds Are Active label owner) also teach the Create Workshops for children of all ages in the LA and LBUSD.
Most recently Create (!) released a collaboration with Liz Janes on the Asthmatic Kitty record label and are prepared to release A Prospect of Freedom, a collection of slow burn improvisations recorded with Ray Raposa (Castanets), Lynn Johnston (Eugene Chadbourne, Red Krayola) and Kris Tiner (Empty Cage Quartet, Wadada Leo Smith).
