Sounds Like
a direct quote: "A box of spaghetti: lots of noodle but it never gets out of hand."
This video from Brian Lugo sounds like a new unrecorded song called "Novel Figure" and a classic, from Harvest of Hope Fest, March 8th 2009.
We sounded like this last summer when Dave Garwacke recorded this very HD video of us playing in a black hole.
Here are a number of things you may want to know about us:
We wrote our first song on april 13th, 2007, in a Bloomington, IN southeast side basement.
We played 16 shows in 2007, and so far way more in 2008.
We decided on our name after reading it on a sidewalk while walking home from a delicious Chinese Restaurant.
We are friends who knew each other from playing with each others past musical projects like Matty Pop Chart, One Reason, K-10 Prospect, Abe Froman, Mt. Gigantic, Bodyhammer, and Los Gatos Negros. We used to live in Mississippi, Kentucky, and Michigan before something drew us all to Bloomington.
We first released a 6 song demo that we recorded with our friend Mike Dixon at Russian Recording here in Bloomington on 10/19/07 from 3pm to 3am.
We self-released our 13 song album "Into Lake Griffy" on cd May 10th, 2008. It was recorded and mixed with our friend Mike Bridavsky at Russian Recording in February and April of 2008. The release is packaged in a full color 100% recycled digipak with 100% recycled mini poster insert. We put a lot of time and energy and life into it.
No Idea Records has released the vinyl version of Into Lake Griffy. It's printed on the same recycled boards and papers as the cd. The vinyl is even "recycled" from various leftover colors of vinyl at the plant. The cd still comes from us!
We toured the east coast last May and June and the west coast with our buddy Paul Baribeau in September and October.
We like to listen to Harry Potter books, National Public Radio Podcasts, and audio from Jurrasic Park in our vehicle.
We thank residents of Guilty Pleasures house past and future for putting up with the incessant noise of practice.
Order INTO LAKE GRIFFY on cd from us! OR send $10 to Po box 3341, Bloomington, IN, 47402.
Hey guys, thanks for the friendage. Definitely check out my zine archive that you can get to from the myspace. Check your messages when you get a chance, too!
i love everything about the three of you! i've been listening to into lake griffy so much lately it never gets old. i wish you would play somewhere in/near CT sooooon it would be so great :)
i'm in love with a girl who likes girls. she loves me but only as friends. it's bittersweet. she drives me around and we both sing "man on fire" at the top of our lungs. if one of us is feeling glum or if we are both irritated at each other we listen to that song and it fixes everything.
I think your music is best to listen to in the winter or fall when it gets cold and everything seems a lot more hopeless than in the summer time, what with how in the summer it's warm and in the winter all the plants die and stuff. But that's just what I think. You all should come to the Brewery in Raleigh NC, It would be rad to see you up here!
I know your gonna have a good life because well just look at you! If you comment me it will really make my day and i'll know you care about my feelings:)~
