Teamwork pays off if the members of a project complement each other. The producer team SOLAN yields an ideal division into compartments. When studio producer Stefan Klauck and DJ Denis Reinhardt met in front of a mixing desk in 2007, it was an ideal combination of different experiences: the one who has produced various music styles from Downbeat to Electro, the other a dedicated follower of House who never wanted to hide his knack for Soul and Disco. The two of them soon found a common denominator.The project SOLAN has by now crafted tracks which embrace the qualities of newer Deep House productions and classical House Music, that is reminiscent of a traditional U.S. sound. They nevertheless pursue a style which is their very own. As heard on their first release, the organic and percussive approach is essential to the tracks, even though there's plenty of electronic finesse. From the compositional side „Gotta Use It“ (Hertzmusic/hertzlich 03) displays a good portion of musicianship, but also exposes the qualities of soulful vocals by Isaac Roosevelt. The track (including remixes by Gorge- and Dresslifter) was subsequently supported by diverse DJs like Jimpster, Solomun, Kreon, Afrilounge, Lemos, Nick Curly, Phonique, Matthias Meyer, Brothers Vibe, Ian Pooley, Herbert Boese, Terry Lee Brown Jr. and greats such as Luciano of Cadenza. Beyond the applause of such big names, the tune went big in the beatport Top Fifty, climbing up to the second position- that is kind of a headstart. Next to an excellent remix of „Without Boundaries“ for labelmate Roddy, they put another log on the fire with „Essence“ (hertzlich Digital 01). Just having released this deep house gem, the team finds prominent supporters for their elegant and timeless sound in Gorge, Ian Pooley, Ante Perry, Björn Wilke, Franksen, Helly Larson and Doomwork. The original plus three additional versions (Going Deeper Version, Dresslifter- und Aki Bergen Remix) are just about to pave their ways into club territory. Let's see how many bodys will check to this. Watch out for their forthcoming E.P. on 8bit-Founder Gorge..s new Label Katchuli. In the meantime Denis Reinhardt and Stefan Klauck are about to concentrate on the live version of their project. After initial steps on the local club scene, it is about time to pack some Hard Drives full of sound to blaze around. SOLAN has a lot more in store for the times ahead. .. .. ..
