Breve biografia:

Nato in Calabria nel 1974 dove trascorre l'infanzia e i primi studi, si trasferisce a Firenze per intraprendere l'Università di Architettura.
L'interesse per l'arte ed un approccio sperimentale lo avvicinano alle nuove espressioni del digitale e gli consentono un percorso di formazione che coinvolge diverse branche del settore artistico, dall'insegnamento, alla grafica, al web design, alla video arte, al vj set, alle installazioni e al teatro sperimentale.
Dal 2004 è docente di "computer grafica" presso il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (scuola nazionale di cinema) a Roma e da quest'anno anche presso la sede del LABA di Firenze.
Fra i suoi clienti più importanti: Rifle, World Bank, Fondazione Volume, Istituto Lorenzo de Medici, Urania Picture (per il film Arrivederci Amore Ciao di M.Soavi), R&C produzioni (per il film Cuore Sacro di F. Ozpeteck).
Nel 2007- 08 ha seguito il tour europeo di Vinicio Capossela realizzando delle video scenografie per il suo live.
Insieme a Virgilio Villoresi e Giosuè Russo ha fondato il collettivo Ni1 per lo studio e l'applicazione di tecnologie video "laser".
Attualmente è vj resident al Tenax di Firenze e sta lavorando alla preparazione del nuovo spettacolo teatrale dei Santasangre "Concerto per voci e musiche sintetiche" prodotto da Romaeuropa Festival 2008, con l'ausilio di una nuova tecnologia per gli ologrammi 3d.

Il set video di Werk Design si articola in un flusso di immagini che rivisita alcuni frammenti tratti dalle video-opere dei piu’ importanti sperimentatori del '900: Norman Mclaren, Oskar Fischinger, Jordan Belson, John Whitney e le proprie astrazioni video 3d, spesso create con processi ricorsivi.



He was born in Calabria in 1974 where he spent his childhood and formative years, he then moved to Florence to study architecture at the university there.
His will to learn new things and his interest in the various arts, led him on a path towards the new digital media in which he gained experience in many different aspects. From teaching, to graphic design, web design, Vjing and set design for an experimental theatre group.
Since 2004 he's been teaching a computer graphics course at the national cinematographic school in Rome "Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia" and starting this year he will also be teaching at the LABA school in Florence.
He has amongst his clients; Rifle, World Bank, Fondazione Volume, Istituto Lorenzo de Medici, Urania Pictures (For the film by M.Saovi "Arrivederci Amore Ciao"), and R & C productions (for the film "Cuore Sacro" by F.Ozpeteck).
In 2007-08 he toured with Vinicio Capossela providing the visuals for his live set.
Together with Virgilio Villoresi and Giosue Russo he created the Nil collective which involves the use of laser video technology applied as visual art.
He is currently the resident VJ at Tenax in Florence and is collaborating on a theatre production together with the theatre group Santasagre "Concerto per voci e musiche sintetiche" for the Romaeuropa Festival 2008, using new technology for producing 3d holograms.
Werk Design video sets incorporate a stream of images that include fragments of some of the most important directors/works of experimental cinema from the 1900's including Norman Mclaren, Oskar Fischinger, Jordan Belson, John Whitney together 3d modelling and images created by recursive processing.

Def_orm è un sistema sintetico di produzione di immagini in tempo reale che mette in relazione continua il fruitore e il suono.
Il sistema memorizza la figura dello spettatore in una sequenza, analizza il segnale sonoro (le frequenze temporalmente più significative), reinterpreta graficamente i dati e genera un flusso di immagini.
Lo scopo dell'applicazione è quello di amplificare le sensazioni prodotte nello spettatore dalla musica.
Il linguaggio usato per la produzione del video è una rilettura digitale delle soluzioni grafiche “street-art”. L'immagine rappresenta il fruitore, utilizzando una reinterpretazione della tecnica murale dello “stencil” attraverso una matrice di punti.
L’input sonoro deforma la matrice e modifica il tempo di lettura della riproduzione video emulando lo “scratchare” del dj.

Def_orm is a synthetic system that produces images in real time creating a continous connection between the user and the sound.
The system captures images of the spectator in sequence, analyses the sound signal (the most significant frequencies at that moment) , and reinterprates the data graphically generating a stream of images.The aim of this system is to amplify the sensations of the spectator.
The language used for video production is a digital rereading of graphic solutions "Street Art".
The images represent the user, using a modification of the mural technique "Stencilling",through a dot matrix.
The sound input distorts the matrix and changes the playback rate of the images so as to emulate a dj scratching. ..
