I am a singer songwriter from Texas. I wrote my first song and sang it acappella probably when I was 11 and have been playing guitar since I was 12. My influences are old pop R&B, country and rock and roll. Most of my people are from Mississippi and I love to tell stories. My first band was called FINNA. I wrote, arranged, and produced our EP and full length album which was independently released in 2005-the year of "the hurricane." I am currently finishing a solo project called "Cigarettes and other dirges," a handful of songs about family, a lost lover, God, and smoking. It was produced by Gary Welch of the Katies, w/a couple of exceptions. I have incidentally rubbed elbows w/some of the most talented people ever, in my opinion in the last 4 years, which has made this solo flight quite miraculous. Songs and love have saved my life.
I'm staying in NY over Christmas because Bobby is moving back to Denver in early Jan so we're just going to visit my cuz in MA b/c it's close ... and costs much less than flying somewhere :) SO...I am trying schedule some sort of visit, even if it's just a quick weekend in the spring b/c I surely miss you all! I'll keep ya posted for sure.
