This project was started many years ago by myself (Carlos R. Andujar) with the intention of creating music, sound, or noise for the sole purpose of sleep accompaniment. As time passed the elements coalesced and transformed into an amalgam wrought from various musical influences and elements ranging from ambient drones, texture loops, hints of melancholy folk, indie rock, and pop.
When Tides Collide has materialized in a variety of fashions throughout the years and encourages the "collective" mentality, allowing whomever is interested in performing in the live setting to do so. The cast continues to revolve, and the music continues to flow.
In the past, When Tides Collide has had the honor of sharing the stage with some pleasant folks such as:
REAX Magazine / Concert Review "For those who remember When Tides Collide from when it was just Carlos Andujar and his guitar, you'll be happy to know he's made a triumphant return to Tampa, but this time he's added a few musically talented friends to the mix..."
REAX Magazine / Album Review "...This is a sweet and calming dreamy record, that gets better as it progresses. Deftly picked reverbed banjo, slide guitars, emotive pianos and whispered vocals calm me somehow even after my 5th cup of espresso. This record has the earnest tonality of true confessions and insecure desires..."

hello friend(s), I wanted to tell you that since I first saw you play at the book shop in 5 points I knew I would love your music. Some years later I am sitting in a Santa Barbara (CA), library working on my graduate work and still stoked to have you on my ipod. It makes me think back to seeing you at the Pit with One Hand Loves Another...great show. I have not heard anything since but will get your new work soon! Keep it coming... Rowan
