This project was started many years ago with the intention of creating compositional pieces of musical works that would serve as a soundtrack for sleep. As time passed the compositions evolved into an amalgam of various musical influences ranging from ambient moods with hints of folk toindie rock and pop influences. More time has passed and the wake of the passing years, WTC has saw come together at a vast point of times in various forms. Currently, When Tides Collide encourages the "collective" mentality, allowing whomever is interested in performing in the live setting to do so. The result has been both rewarding and interesting.
In the past, the collective has had the honor of sharing the stage with some pleasant folks that include:
REAX Magazine on our performance with Early Day Miners... "For those who remember When Tides Collide from when it was just Carlos Andujar and his guitar, you’ll be happy to know he’s made a triumphant return to Tampa, but this time he’s added a few musically talented friends to the mix. Complete with two keyboards, drums, guitars, glockenspiel, vibraphone, and a violinist. This massive extension of sound signals a shift from the intensely personal, almost introverted, music of Tides to a more rich, expansive shoegaze that better suits Andujar’s musical ambitions. When Tides Collide managed to stun the audience with their newly attained chops, and further established themselves as a musical asset to Florida’s flowering musical landscape."
REAX Magazine on We Lifted Up... "...This is a sweet and calming dreamy record, that gets better as it progresses. Deftly picked reverbed banjo, slide guitars, emotive pianos and whispered vocals calm me somehow even after my 5th cup of espresso. This record has the earnest tonality of true confessions and insecure desires..."
