Hello! I'm Nicholas Williams, I've been performing as a solo singer/songwriter for the last 7 years. I'm glad you've stopped by. I'll be brief... Among the many other things I love, I write the material, sing the songs, play the instruments, and organize the music for this project titled "Whetherman."
I'm interested in meeting both old and new faces, indulging conversations, traveling when and where I can, engaging in different views and cultures of life, observing and performing with patience in all it's forms, and working toward becoming the person I'd like to be one day. Being boring and unkind is not something I'm accustomed to or plan to get comfortable with!
Coming soon: 2009 Album: "Nooks and Crannies"

Fame is but a fruit tree
So very unsound.
It can never flourish
Till its stalk is in the ground.
So men of fame
Can never find a way
Till time has flown
Far from their dying day.
Forgotten while you're here
Remembered for a while
A much updated ruin
From a much outdated style.

Whetherman is the music of Nicholas Williams, a singer/songwriter originally from Columbus, Ohio. Though he often performs live acoustic shows, most of his efforts thus far have been focused on writing and recording, about to finish his 3rd album in the last 2 years.
Williams produced and released his first official album "Bull" in June 2007 under distribution through Adorable Records, a startup independent label based just outside of Detroit, MI. The record received wide recognition in the Midwest and itunes community as an artist on the rise, with standout tracks such as “Moon”, “Storms in Seattle”, and “The Dove and The Doctor” frequenting popular folk playlists and indie radio stations from California to Virginia. The music video for “Moon” has also been featured on VIRV since it’s release in late 2007.
"The Great Lull", his 2nd album, was released in November 2008 and takes an appropriate turn to the softer side of Williams’ creativity. Amongst the use of rhodes, keys, African drums, tambourine, ukelele, and string arrangements, nearly each track is broken down to the raw talent of Williams: acoustic guitar in hand and soaring, melodic vocals with insightful lyrical depth.
Currently, Williams is recording a full-scale production titled "Nooks and Crannies", set to release in December 2009. His albums are available directly though his store found at myspace.com/whetherman.
This is where I have always been coming to. Since my time began. And when I go away from here, this will be the mid-point, to which everything ran, before, and from which everything will run.
