Specializing in traditional Irish dance tunes, pub songs, and ballads, The Wild Clover Band also features music from other genres including Bluegrass, Jazz, and Rock. This "and more" category makes The Wild Clover Band very appealing to most any crowd.

The Wild Clover Band is a member of the Nebraska Arts Council Touring Program and performs for many community concerts, festivals, pubs, and private functions.

BAND BIOS

Dave Klein - Dave has been playing professionally since he was a teenager and now he teaches and plays all types of music and instruments. Dave is a bass player and has primarily focused on jazz and classical literature. His jazz background becomes apparent when he improvises over and Irish jig, and you have not heard anything like his rendition of In The Mood that he plays on the mandolin.

Aaron Svoboda - Aaron is also a teacher and performer of may styles of music, but never has he done the things he does with The Wild Clover Band. Aaron majored in percussion in college, but he never had played the bodhran. His first bodhran lesson took place in the basement of a local brewery over a pint of stout, and it was the best lesson he ever had. Aarons vocal career started when Tim lost his voice before a gig, and boy, is his mother proud!

Heidi Hilligas - Heidi is a young, extremely talented musician with a bright future ahead of her. Heidi is a student at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where she is majoring in music performance, and is actively involved in the orchestra and vocal programs. Heidi's musicianship and stage presence makes it worth the time to check out The Wild Clover Band. Be sure to request something in a "Donegal Style." She will be happy to oblige.

Tim Sharkey - Tim is a fourth generation Irish-American and the source of many of the band's songs. Tim began playing guitar as a wee lad and has performed in many venues. He has a varied musical background, including contemporary church music and barbershop. Tim was "discovered" by Dave at a Christmas church service where he was playing and singing. Being just what we needed, Dave asked Tim to join. Tim works as a supervisor for a company called The Connection based in Hodrege, Nebraska.

Greg Tesdall - Greg became a member of the group when he caught one of their gigs and happened to have his whistle with him. Greg is a professional musician and has an extensive background in blues, jazz and rock. He enjoys a variety of musical styles and as a sax player works with numerous groups while adding a bit of keyboards,guitar and congas . Many people who see The Wild Clover Band know Greg and are blown away not only at the number of instruments he can play, but the fact he is great at all of them.

Mike Metzger - Mike is an outstanding musician and brings a great deal of experience to the group. He has been playing banjo for over 25 years including playing with the Turtle Creek Bluegrass Band from WyoNebraska for over 20 years. Mike also plays guitar and mandolin when needed and we're sure it is not long until he learns bodhran, and fiddle so that he and Greg can do all of the gigs themselves as the rest of us will become obsolete and irrelevant. Mike's day job involves being a loan officer at a local bank and he is a wonderful husband and proud father of 3 children.
