BLURB COURTESY OF LOUDHAILER PRESS LIMITED:
Feted by the likes of Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens in 2009 and buoyed by festival appearances throughout the summer, Tom Williams And The Boat release a new single, ‘Concentrate’ on the 8th March through Unlabel Records / Wire Boat Recordings.
A taster for their debut album, recorded in Livingston Studios with BBC engineer Simon Askew following a meeting whilst recording a session for Huw Stephens last summer, ‘Concentrate’ is a propulsive slice of perfect guitar pop, replete with a wry lyricism that is one of the many notable aspects of this most beguiling of the new British guitar bands.
Tom Williams And The Boat formed in Tunbridge Wells in 2008, the six members having been thrown together via a local gig night and electing to leave their various bands to create something new. With a diverse musicianship that encompasses the traditional rock ‘n’ roll of guitar, bass and drums supplemented by piano, violin, harmonica and whatever else works, the band formed their own Wire Boat Recordings to issue early EPs at gigs and it was these self contained releases that caught the eye of Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq amongst others who weighed in with airplay, sessions and invites to play the BBC Introducing Stage at various UK festivals.
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem, & some songs, on myspace... Poem 187 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my Blog for details): A SOUTH SHIELDS WALKABOUT
Out of the museum-and-gallery (Wiser on Cookson and the local way), Down Ocean Road with, to the right of me, Its eateries and, left, neat places to stay; Before, on either side, Marine Parks - The southern-one a most beautiful place, Teeming with moorhens, swans, grebes and mallards In a small lake at a scenic-hill’s base.
Then (holding chips from the parade’s cafe And, thus, a flock of gulls squawking above) Onto the South Pier I made my way: Seeing seaweed over rocks - like a glove - And high-and-dry sands held from transgression By growth of grass and the weaving of wood, Plus, in the dim light of a sleepy sun, Fishing boats returning to Tynemouth’s hood.
Hi there. Firstly thanks a million to those from the UK who came and checked out some of my stuff (on my myspace site) from my new acoustic album(due anytime this year) over the last few days, it was great to see so many plays. I would just like to let you all know UKwide, I am still looking for Venues to play, and or support slots, TV, and festival slots when I return from early April-November ( a small trip to France is Planned for some festivals and more, mid July-Mid August) then come November off around the Globe again with my acoustic and a few additions.
For now, because of the great response I have had over the last few days I have(For A Limited Time) put some extra tracks on my site as more of a teaser (including a very different take on a Classic song by "The Beatles" a cover of a Christina Aguilera favorite, and a cover of a Zutons tune made more well known by Miss Winehouse and Mark Ronson)
Get there quick to steal them(if thats your thing) as they may not be there for long
All enquiries for the purchase of my acoustic album entitled "Room to Move" will be dealt with in a very personal Manner (just message me for details)
Enjoy the Music, and take good care all. Much love, and see some of you soon. abbo

Please help Walter Koenig, "Chekov from Star Trek TOS", Get His Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Walter has been nominated for his star and waltersstar.com has raised the money to manufacture and install the star (Thanks!). All Walter needs now is the votes of the Walk of Fame Committee. Write to the Walk of Fame Committee a polite letter in your own words, why you think Walter should have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. These NEED to be letters from each individual fan in the fan's own words. Not copies, Not form letters, Not chain letters.
