WISDOM CALL
The embryo of WISDOM CALL started when I wanted to go back and do more
straight forward classic heavy metal in the vein of ACCEPT, PRETTY MAIDS &
IRON MAIDEN. When I formed my first band SEVEN SEAS in 1986 it was these
band influences in our band. Now 13 years later I wanted to go back to my
roots where I started so I got in touch with some musicians in Stockholm
late 1999 to see if there was any interest.
NARNIA was still going on and we worked on material for our third album
DESERT LAND that happened to be released in 2001 same year as WISDOM CALL.
I have just formed my own record label called C.L. MUSIC & PUBLISHING
later on RIVEL RECORDS and now when I had the full freedom I wanted to do
a classic metal album besides NARNIA.
The first man to be involved was Stefan Olsson guitarist of (BISHOP
GARDEN) and he introduced me for a talented guitarist FREDRIK ÅBERG
because we wanted twinguitars like IRON MAIDEN, ACCEPT & THIN LIZZY.
FREDRIK then told me about a great bass player called ANDREAS OLSSON and
he later joined NARNIA and he is still a member of NARNIA and he is also
involved in DIVINEFIRE as well. On drums I asked my metal brother ANDREAS
JOHANSSON the drummer of NARNIA and he joined the band. The 6th member and
keyboard player of WISDOM CALL was given to a talented player and studio
engineer & producer PER HALLMAN (BRIGHTEYE BRISON, FLAGSHIP & STORMWIND)
Now the line-up was complete and we sacrificed alot of time to record this
album. We had alot of technical problems during the recording sessions and
it was a time when I thought this album will never see the light.
In the beginning of 2001 it was fianlly ready and in MARCH 2001 it was
released on my newly formed label. It was also released on MASSACRE
RECORDS in Germany and ART MUSIC GROUP in RUSSIA. We start touring and we
played shows in FINLAND & SWEDEN and the response was great but during
2002 the spark wasn't there anymore and we split up in late 2002.
Now 7 years after I can listen to this album and be a little bit nostalgic
and have a good time because it was a time when I thought this album would
never see the light. Over 5000 copies of the WISDOM CALL album have been
sold so far and still fans of NARNIA, DIVINEFIRE,AUDIOVISION & FLAGSHIP
found it so it is a part of my musical career and meant alot for my start
of my record company.
