Hello, I'm WonderGround. I'm a singer songwriter from St. Louis, MO. I used to skip rocks in the Mississippi River and catch lightning bugs in jars. Via Paris, Seoul, Milan, Urbana IL, and a few other places, I found my way to sunny Los Angeles, the hardest town ever to leave.
I am in the process of finishing my first full length record, which was produced by Aaron Espinoza (Earlimart). I was lucky enough to work with some great players on this record. Aaron Burtch from Grandaddy played drums, Ariana Murray from Earlimart played keys and bass, and my friend Anh Quach added guitars and harmonies. I am very much looking forward to the release, which will hopefully happen in the fall of 2009.
Prior to this record, my band and I released a 7" entitled "The Winter '07 Inch" which is two winter themed songs on white vinyl. We also have an EP called "Become Water" which was was our first recording and happened somewhere between 2005 and 2006. The EP and 7" led us to play some really cool shows, do some radio interviews, and be featured on the Phil Jupitus show on the BBC 6 in the UK.
Hope you enjoy our stuff. You can read reviews of our EP and learn more about us at these fine locations:
"Some of the catchiest tunes ever penned in the indie rock universe"-Smother
"Low budget takes on the free-form organic experimentalism that The Beta Band produced on their first three EPs mixed with a slight Beatles obsession"-Joyzine UK
"Intelligent pop that's true to an indie-rock spirit"-3Hive
"I want Wonder Ground to have a full length out soon; the EP is great.""-NeuFutur
"Become Water—the band’s debut EP—is five songs with a lo-fi pop fuzz to them, reflecting an almost slacker feeling that invokes Douglas Coupland or Jim Jarmusch rather than David Byrne."-Pop Matters

They're offering the final slot to one act on Triple J's Unearthed, so if you like our music we have decided to give a free download @ http://www.triplejunearthed.com/Artists/View.aspx?artistid=14312 or just click on the banner below. And we ask you in return if you can rate & leave a review of our tunes as these two things are what they will be looking at when deciding. We'd really appreciate it!
