Wonderjack is a dynamic four piece original modern rock band hailed for its "energetic performances" and "tight arrangements and harmonies". In a few short years the band has evolved its sound into an unusual, yet cohesive mix of electric guitar riffs and vintage electromechanical keyboard patterns, driven by a solid rhythmic foundation created by bass and drums.
Consistent local gigging, constant songwriting and the release of their previous four-song EP November resulted in the band receiving significant attention on the air waves and in clubs throughout the VA/DC/PA region. Chris from the "Rusty Nail Radio Show " enthusiastically commented, "their voices are unbelievable!"
Wonderjack is psyched to announce that we have completed our latest EP - Shoot Out the Lights. With this latest recording, WJ has pushed the boundaries of our sound, and succeeded in capturing the energy of our live shows. We were pleased to have the help of Erik Skews (Viki Nova Band) in recording, Ted Comerford (The Argument, Juniper Lane) in mixing, and Dave Harris of Studio B for mastering. The 5 song disk is available soon at our gigs, and though our website - http://www.wonderjack.com through paypal.
Also, get free downloads and listen to more tunes from previous recordings at our website - http://www.wonderjack.com.
Wonderjack's music has been featured as an editor's pick on mp3.washingtonpost.com, on Z104's Capital Scene hosted by Jenni Chase in Washington DC, on 14 radio stations and 4 webcasts in the Philadelphia area, and on the local Washington DC television channel Megahertz. Wonderjack has performed in DC-area venues such as: IOTA, The State Theatre, Rhodeside Grill, TT Reynolds, Galaxy Hut, DC9, Ragtime, Dr. Dremo's Taphouse, Clarendon Grill, Laughing Lizard Lounge, George Washington University, Ned Devine's, and the Firehouse Grill. Regionally, Wonderjack regularly plays The Rusty Nail and the Mill Creek Tavern in Philly, and has appeared at Jaberwoke and Coupe DeVille's in Charlottesville, Virginia.
