Bringing glass-hearted-indie-sparkled-alt-country-rock to life...
Taking their name from Woody Guthrie, Woody formed amongst the avenues of Firs in late 2006. At first it was just an outlet for Anthony and John to play music they loved and wanted to hear, but soon enough a band was needed to play live so Adam, Robbo and JJ joined up, each bringing their unique take on what the band should sound like. It wasn't long until Woody was in full touring flight and starting to hone their musical influences into the Woody sounds you're hearing right now.....
But it seems touring can take its toll on some. Nearly two years after joining Robbo, JJ and Adam left the Woody HQ for the last time, leaving Anthony and John to get back to writing again. But as quickly as the leaves fall there's always more to replace them, so with a slightly different direction (and thanks to Rosco Records) Woody are back in the studio (Simon on bass / production) and are currently working on their next album.
There'll be some stripped down live shows in the coming months, so watch this (my)space.
