sleepytime trio, hoover, drive like jehu, lazycain, four hundred years, hose.got.cable, the VSS, planes mistaken for stars, small brown bike, early sunny day real state, fugazi, unwound, hot water music, twelve hour turn, refused, the bronx, appleseed cast, action patrol, jawbox, max colby, frodus, and early engine down among many others...oh yeah, and:
Sounds Like
"Totally blew me out of the water. [A band] I’ve never heard of that [was] raw, blistering, spastic, and honest, helping renew my faith in totally random hardcore bands....Best split 7" I’ve heard in ages."

"...two-guitar, bass, and drums progressive punk/rock/...you know, I don't know exactly what kind of rock they were. There was a lot of heavy melodic guitar and well-placed screaming. Rock with screaming can quickly become annoying, but these guys are tight musicians, and their melodies and spot-on time changes really carried the tunes. The screams were a welcome exclamation. Although the songs were short, each was memorable, employing a different rhythmic or sonic element...Worn In Red should indeed be heard."
- Damani Harrison, The Hook, October 6-12, 2005.

"Beee-yootifully carved, spastic shit that harkens back to the days of 1993 or so, and I don’t mean that as a burn. Both bands are running the screamo angle with such perfection, this could’ve come out on Gravity fifteen years ago and no one would’ve been the wiser—except there’s a full-color cover here and no poorly typed insert with, I don’t know, drawings of stars all over it. Benard reminds me of Staircase, which is probably a fairly obscure reference in these parts, but that’s what I’m hearing. Worn In Red’s song has no less than five screamo-epic sections in it and the vocalist could be a dead ringer for Mike Carter from Glass And Ashes, except this guy’s slightly more decipherable. No information available whatsoever besides song titles, which is too bad, as it’d be nice to hear what these dudes are yelping about. Apparently, the label’s folded since putting this record out; if you’re into the genre and you come across this one in a bin somewhere, grab it up—both bands know exactly what they’re doing. "

"Worn in Red only get one shot at making their mark here, but oh man. I've been hearing good things about these guys for a long time, but I would have checked them out way sooner if I thought all their songs were as good as this. The super epic "Vital Joys" spans close to six minutes and features gravelly screamed/shouted vocals that, for me, bring to mind Glass and Ashes, but it's spread across a lively, ragged base that sounds like a more distortion-thick Funeral Diner splashing in punkier waters. It's a pretty conscious song about redefining oneself, too. The song's already over a year old, but it sounds fresh to me."

"I hate to sound shallow, but i was drawn to this EP by it’s bold and colourful artwork. Having never listened to either of these bands before, i was unsure of what to expect. However, i am extremely pleased that I trusted my weakness for eye-catching artwork and gave this EP a listen, because it is fantastic.
Worn In Red, for those of you who have not yet had the chance to hear them, are an Attack! Vipers! Style hardcore band, whose one song contribution to this split is a varied and interesting hardcore punk odyssey, delivered with passion and no shortage of powerful riffs. The lyrics are fantastic, a personal favourite is the line ‘This is our right: to know the beauty within ourselves. And now we will reclaim’ encapsulating the positive vibe that flows throughout this half of the split. When this track comes crashing to an end after nearly 6 minutes, you just can’t help but wish for more. One fantastic song just isn’t enough, but definitely a band I will be following up in the near future."

We used to be in a bunch of other bands. Now we're in this band. We've been around since November of 2004, though the current line-up has only been together since October of 2007. We like to write music together, tour together, and hang out together. We play in other bands too, such as Memorial and Forensics. We've been fortunate to play with a bunch of rad bands, including: Young Livers, Melt Banana, Glass & Ashes, Pelican, Modern Life Is War, Racebannon, Light Yourself On Fire, Thunderlip!, Bella Fea, A Wilhelm Scream, Pash, Mass Movement of the Moth, The Points, Mouthbreather, The Riot Before, Brand New Disaster, Benard, The Catalyst, I Am The Avalanche, Jena Berlin, Sparrows Swarm & Sing, Pink Razors, Bullet Train To Vegas, Tubers, Pyramids, Kayo Dot, Lost Hands Found Fingers, This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb, Savage Brewtality, Building The State, Constrictor, The Draft, Small Brown Bike, and Seaweed.

Please don't send form letters trying to book shows with us, or anyone. The idea of having a connection like myspace should be a good one, not a launching pad for generic bands full of people with dollar signs in their eyes. That said, if you would generally like to play a show with us, are nice people, and have a sound we might be into, let us know. We will never respond to any form letters, and we hope that others will adopt this policy, because if we don't get rid of cookie-cutter bands touring just to feed their own egos, our scene will end up shit.
Also, there's just too much smarmy "networking" going on in general - that shit belongs in a business luncheon, not in a DIY music community. If you're a band or a company we've never met, and you dig our music, take 5 minutes to send us a message and introduce yourselves. It's really not asking that much, and it helps build a buffer against turning this myspace thing into a contest of "which band can waste the most time in front of their computer trawling for friends to artificially inflate the status of their band". We'll do the same if we randomly run across your band/company and we like it enough to say, "hey, let's be 'friends'". We're not trying to be dicks, we're just not interested in being all cold and "business" about music, and it seems that this simple request keeps the corporate-rock wannabes at bay, since they generally have no interest in making any kind of good-faith friendly connection. In other words, if our position on this pisses you off, then it was probably meant to. If you get it, then lets be friends!
yea, a friend (Ryan Meadows) sent me an invite to the show. Anywho, do WORK! thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoy our stuff. Annnd.....think thats it, if you needa opener for shows around here anytime, hit us up! lata.
thanks for the kind words, i re-posted your last two paragraphs of your bio as a myspace blog thing on our site.
if you are doing any tours and want to play in alabama please let us know, we have a place here called magic city wholesale and some other cool DIY places where we would love to play with you guys.
It was super awesome seeing and hanging out with you all, and I'm glad the "first" night of the tour was better than the first night :) Good luck with the rest of the tour and have a blast at The Fest!
I remember seeing you at The Hideaway with your old singer a couple years back when you played with Gamenight and Mouth Movements. You guys were good then. Then I saw you again with Mouth Movements like a year later. Probably one of the best shows ive been to. It's great to see good guys and amazing finally make it on the perfect label. Let me know as soon as I can buy that album.
