WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL WENDY O. WILLIAMS AND THE PLASMATICS TRIBUTE SITE

The culture shattering Plasmatics were a concept band put together by radical anti-artist Rod Swenson around the now legendary Wendy O. Williams in 1977 as an assault on the status quo. Wendy and the band, which changed members regularly over Williams decade-long career, made their first appearance in 1978 and continued for nearly a decade setting cultural and musical trends many of which the world has still to catch up to today. During this time they produced 8 full studio albums, numerous EPs, death defying conceptual videos, and stage shows that saw Williams take the (male-dominatred) cultural and musical establishment head-on. Williams died an untimely death in 1998 but the memory lives on today, perhaps stronger than ever, as more and more newer fans discover the ground-breaking accomplishments of this remarkable artist and band (for additional bio material).
